The market for video surveillance equipment was already forecast to grow to $20.5 billion in revenue in 2016, up 114% from 2010's revenue of $9.6 billion, according to  IHS , an insights and analytics company. But now, IHS says it is recalculating its forecast after the  Boston Marathon bombings . IHS says high-profile terrorist attacks historically have driven governments to increase spending on video surveillance equipment, and the same is expected following the Boston bombings, in which surveillance cameras played a key role in the investigation. Gun Control Advocates Have Scored A Major Victory That Nobody Is Talking About

YAHOO! FINANCE 4 Hours Ago Gun Control Advocates Have Scored A Major Victory That Nobody Is Talking About by  Walter Hickey This week G.E. Capital Finance announced that  it would no longer finance gun purchases , becoming the latest in a string of companies that have decided to leave a large amount of money on the table rather than risk their reputations on the gun business.  It's one of the few places where the high-profile publicity campaign in support of increased gun control has led to a real world result. Last week advocates for gun control were dealt a humbling blow when legislation to require background checks at gun shows  publicly flopped on the floor of the Senate after weeks of work.  Despite the political defeat, however, something very interesting has happened in the private sector.  GE  is based in Fairfield, Conn., and  several employees have children in Sandy Hook  Elementary School, the site of the December mass shooting, according to the WSJ .  Jeff Immelt , the

BLOOMBERG 6 Hours Ago Gun Control Advocates to Continue Push for Tougher Laws by  Heidi Przybyla A U.S. senator is trying to revive his proposal to expand background checks for gun purchasers  after the Senate defeated the measure earlier this month. Democratic Senator  Joe Manchin  of West Virginia is seeking to persuade a group of Democrats and Republicans who voted against the measure to change their votes or accept revisions to the amendment to win them over. "Are there people who would be comfortable if there is a change in a definition? Is there an area that needs to be tightened up?" Manchin told reporters on April 23. He and "You don't just not continue working" Republican Senator  Pat Toomey  of Pennsylvania had negotiated the compromise plan. The Senate defeated the plan for expanded gun background checks April 17 on a 54-46 vote, with 60 needed. Five Democrats joined Republicans in opposition. The vote scuttled a watered- down version of President  B

Mayor Doomberg

NRAILA.ORG 7 Hours Ago Vol. 20, No.  17 04/26/2013 According to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the recent terror bombings in Boston require a new interpretation of the Constitution to give the government greater power to protect citizens. "The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry," Bloomberg said during a recent press conference. "But we live in a complex world where you're going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change." According to a Breitbart.com article, the anti-gun Bloomberg claims that recent attacks on the Second Amendment have left him confident that such re-interpretation is possible. "The Supreme Court has recognized that you have to have different interpretations of the Second Amendment and what it applies to and reasonable gun laws," Bloomberg said. He employs the tactic of
