ATF New Orleans: Lafayette Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing 8 Stolen Firearms in Home

Lafayette Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing 8 Stolen Firearms in Home LAFAYETTE, La. – United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced today that a Lafayette man pleaded guilty to possessing eight stolen firearms. Rico D. King, 39, of Lafayette, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard T. Haik to one count of possession of stolen firearms. According to evidence presented at the guilty plea, during an investigation into Lafayette burglaries and after developing leads as to the location of the stolen firearms, agents executed a search warrant in September of 2014 at a residence in Lafayette where King was an occupant. During the search, agents found King in possession of the stolen firearms including two .25-06 caliber rifles, a .410 gauge shotgun, two .12 gauge shotguns, a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle and a .270 caliber rifle. Seven Indicted for Trafficking Cocaine and Marijuana into Minnesota from California and Arizona via FedEx United States Attorney Andrew M. Luger today announced an indictment charging ANTHONY CURTIS HARRIS, 33, and six others with conspiring to traffic cocaine and marijuana into Minnesota from California and Arizona via FedEx and the United States Postal Service.1 Additionally, some members of the conspiracy were also charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and others with conspiracy to commit money laundering. Trio Sentenced for Drug Robbery Two Cedar Rapids men and one Cedar Rapids woman were sentenced in federal court today for their June 9, 2014, robbery of a drug dealer of his methamphetamine and cash. Leonard Landt, age 28, was sentenced to 77 months’ imprisonment in federal prison. Snofawn Torres, age 22, was sentenced to 44 months’ imprisonment in federal prison.
