Report: Trader Joe's to drop health coverage for part-time workers

THEHILL.COM 5 Hours Ago Report: Trader Joe's to drop health coverage for part-time workers by  Elise Viebeck By Elise Viebeck - 09/11/13 02:09 PM ET Tweet Specialty grocery chain Trader Joe's will no longer provide healthcare coverage to part-time workers and instead point them toward ObamaCare's new insurance exchanges, according to a  report . The company, which provides some of the most generous worker benefits in the industry, told staff last month that those working 30 hours or less per week will no longer be eligible for healthcare coverage. Trader Joe's CEO Dan Bane reportedly promised part-time workers a $500 check next year and help understanding their new coverage options under ObamaCare. "We believe that with the $500 from Trader Joe's and the tax credits available under the [Affordable Care Act], many of you should be able to obtain health care coverage at very little if any net cost to you," Bane wrote in a staff memo dated Aug. 30. WATCH: College Students Chase David Petraeus and Shout at Him on First Day of Class

MEDIAITE 5 Hours Ago WATCH: College Students Chase David Petraeus and Shout at Him on First Day of Class by  Andrew Kirell Recent video shows former CIA director  David Petraeus  being chased down a New York City street by student activists at the City University of New York. Petraeus was  reportedly  on the way to teaching his first class at CUNY's honors college, entitled "Are We on the Threshold of the North American Decade?" He took on the teaching gig as part of rehabilitating his image following an extramarital affair scandal that led to his resignation from the CIA. The students can be heard yelling "War criminal!" at the retired military officer who played a key role in the "counterinsurgency" strategy of the Iraq War. "Every class, David!" the students shout, suggesting they plan to protest him on a weekly basis, before every lecture. "Petraeus out of CUNY" and "Fascist" were some of the other chants. At one poin

Obama talks through Pentagon ‘moment of silence’ at 9/11 commemoration (Video)

GOPTHEDAILYDOSE.COM 4 Hours Ago Obama talks through Pentagon 'moment of silence' at 9/11 commemoration (Video) Posted on  11 September, 2013  by  Amy via exainer During today's commemoration of the innocent Americans killed at the Pentagon twelve years ago today at the hands of Islamist terrorists, Barack Obama broke tradition and the media reported schedule of events by failing to observe a moment of silence for the dead, choosing instead to go straight into his fairly short speech, as reported by Fox News via YouTube.com and the Reuters news agency on Sept. 11, 2013. Prior to Obama's arrival at the Pentagon, Reuters verified that the typical mainstream media reporting that the traditional moment of silence would be observed. Further moments of silence will be observed at 9:37 a.m., when American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. However, the video clip of the Fox News live report clearly cites on the rotating time stamp on the bottom, left of the screen (see vide

Democratic state senators in Colorado recalled after anti-gun votes

THELIBERTARIANREPUBLIC.COM 1 Hour Ago Democratic state senators in Colorado recalled after anti-gun votes Strong message sent to anti-gun Democrats… Citizens in Colorado can breathe easier after they successfully recalled two state senators who voted against their natural rights to bear arms. State Senate President John Morse  and Senator  Angela Giron  were removed from office by popular vote. They had both voted in favor of 15-round limits on ammo magazines as well as expanded background checks. The legislation passed and was signed into law, driving angry voters to initiate recall proceedings at the beginning of the summer. Republican  Bernie Herpin  will replace Morse and Republican  George Rivera  will replace Angela Giron. Two Democrats were replaced with two Republicans in a race that even New York Mayor  Michael Bloomberg  participated in, spending $350,000 unsuccessfully to back the anti-gun Democrats. Patriotic Biker Rally a Success; Million Muslim March Draws 21 Attendees

TPNN.COM 3 Hours Ago Patriotic Biker Rally a Success; Million Muslim March Draws 21 Attendees by  Greg Campbell It's been twelve years since a beautiful New York morning was stained with the horror of a terrorist attack that killed thousands of Americans. It has been exactly one year since terrorists stormed our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, killing four Americans, including our ambassador, Chris Stevens. It's been a year and Americans are still without answers. Americans are desperate to know what happened, who was responsible and why the Obama Administration is continually stonewalling efforts to find the truth. On Tuesday,  The Tea Party News Network reported  that the 2 Million Bikers to D.C. rally had been denied a permit from the D.C. Parks Department. The biker rally was meant to honor the victims of the terrorist attack in Benghazi and highlight the need for answers that the Obama Administration continually refuses to provide. Loading... FULL COVERAGE: 2 Million Bikers Rally To Washington , DC 9-11 TRIBUTE 2013

YOUTUBE 3 Hours Ago FULL COVERAGE: 2 Million Bikers Rally To Washington , DC 9-11 TRIBUTE 2013 Millions of bikers from around the country roared into the D.C. area on Wednesday in a show of support for Sept. 11 victims and in solidarity against a controversial Muslim rally on the Mall. The 2 Million Bikers to DC ride might have fallen short of 2 million strong, but the numbers were impressive. A line of shining chrome and steel bikes stretched about a third of a mile from the starting point at the Harley Davidson of Washington store just outside the District in Prince George's County. The bikers began departing from the store at about 10:30 in staggered groups of 50, stopped for traffic lights and taking an hour or so to get on the road. The ride was complicated by the fact that federal and local authorities denied a permit that would have offered the riders a police escort through traffic — a sore spot with organizers who thought the denial was for political purposes. "This Has Been one of the Most Humiliating Episodes in Presidential History"

TOWNHALL.COM 3 Hours Ago "This Has Been one of the Most Humiliating Episodes in Presidential History" National Journal's  Ron Fournier, a veteran DC journo who  calls 'em like he sees 'em , hasn't been terribly impressed with President Obama's careening and incomprehensible handling of the crisis in Syria. In an unsparing review, Fournier concludes that Obama has demonstrated himself to be  naive and isolated . Behold what 'smart power' hath wrought: Naive about the levers of power:Where to start? Obama reversed course on congressional authorization at the last minute, after a private chat with his chief of staff, and to the surprise of his national security team--all in violation of presidential best practices. He then left the country on a quixotic trip to Russia, allowing misgivings to grow in Congress and the public before he could build a case for striking Syria. Boxed in, Obama seized upon a Russian proposal to put Syria's weapons in the

CNN Poll: Support for Obamacare Drops Below 40%

THE FOUNDRY 1 Hour Ago CNN Poll: Support for Obamacare Drops Below 40% by  Rob Bluey Rob Bluey September 11, 2013 at 6:32 pm A  new poll released today from CNN  shows public support for Obamacare plummeting below 40 percent, a significant drop that comes as Congress considers defunding the unfair, unworkable and unaffordable health-care law. In January 51% said they favored all or most of the provisions in the new law. Now that figure is down to 39%. Support has dropped in virtually all demographic categories, but it has fallen the farthest among two core Democratic groups – women and Americans who make less than $50,000. The poll was conducted last week by ORC International. CNN's Paul Steinhauser noted some of the factors  that might have caused the change in public opinion. The poll's release comes after a major push the past six weeks by conservative groups to try and defund the health care law. There has also been a huge disparity over the past couple of years in ad spen

Syria debate twists Beltway playbook

Rand Paul | BLOOMBERG WORLD   |   FOCUS R vs. D calculus devolves into odd alliances Syria debate twists Beltway playbook THE WASHINGTON POST SEP 11, 2013 ARTICLE HISTORY PRINT SHARE WASHINGTON –  Syria has utterly confounded the Washington political establishment, from the White House to the Capitol. There's no script for what's been happening. The usual political polarization, the simple calculus of R vs. D, has disintegrated into a tangle of uncomfortable alliances. President Barack Obama has sought congressional approval for military strikes against the Syrian regime for allegedly using chemical weapons, and that requires him to harvest support from anywhere and everywhere on the political spectrum — even on the fringes. He could use an "aye," for example, from Arizona Rep. Trent Franks. But here's Franks, in a subterranean corridor, emerging Monday from a briefing on Syria: "It just seems that everything the president touches in foreign policy, he inject
