Monday, October 14, 2013 Pre-Order Today:  Amazon  |  iBooks  |  Barnes & Noble | Indie   "There is no way that we will default on paying our bills unless Obama simply refuses to pay, because we have the money coming in. The service on the debt every month is about $18 billion, and tax revenue changes every month, but on average it's $200 to $225 billion of tax revenue coming in. A lot. We've got more than enough money." -Rush   Transcripts, Rush 24/7 Audio Now at RushLimbaugh.com: Shutdown: Obama Wants to Inflict Pain Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are

Mark Kelly Commits a Felony at New York Gun Show

THETRUTHABOUTGUNS.COM 7 Hours Ago Mark Kelly Commits a Felony at New York Gun Show by  Robert Farago A TTAG reader writes: "Mark ' I wasn't really buying that AR-15 ' Kelly is committing a felony right in front of New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. It's against New York State (NYS) law for someone to be in possession (i.e. holding) a handgun without a valid NYS Pistol license. Mark Kelly can't have a NYS pistol license because he's not a legal resident of New York." An Empire State firearms attorney told TTAG that there's an exception for firearms training but, as far as he can tell, not gun shows. Unless we hear otherwise, under Article 265 of New York State penal law , Mr. Kelly's committing a Class E felony. But wait! There's more! Well, there would have been if Kelly hadn't been pressed for time. "Kelly bought a book on Colt revolvers,"  washingtontimes.com  reports, "and said later he probably would

LA Supreme Court to hear argument on whether law barring felons from guns is constitutional

INFOWARS.COM 2 Hours Ago LA Supreme Court to hear argument on whether law barring felons from guns is constitutional Paul Purpura The Times-Picayune  October 14, 2013 Louisiana Supreme Court justices are scheduled to hear argument Monday afternoon on whether the state law barring convicted felons from possessing firearms is constitutional. The conflict stems from the constitutional amendment Louisiana voters overwhelmingly passed in November making gun ownership a "fundamental" right. The constitutional challenge stems from New Orleans Criminal District Court Judge Darryl Derbigny's ruling in March, when he tossed out the felon with a firearm charge prosecutors filed against Glen P. Draughter, 21. Under Louisiana's 1975 law, Draughter was prohibited from having guns because of a burglary conviction. He was arrested with an assault rifle in April 2012, and New Orleans prosecutors charged him under the law. Almost 75 percent of Louisiana voters who cast ballots in Nove

WORLD MAGAZINE 3 Hours Ago Midday Roundup: Gun control campaigns misfire amid mixed messages by  Leigh Jones Second Amendment support?  Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz.,  visited a gun show  in New York this weekend, using the photo op to reiterate her support for universal background checks. "Stopping gun violence takes courage—the courage to do what's right. The courage of new ideas. Now is the time to come together," Giffords said, amid both boos and cheers. Legislation passed in January made gun sales in New York among the most regulated in the nation. Dealers at the Saratoga show told the  Times Union  in Albany they were happy to have Giffords and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, at the show, even though they disagreed with their message. When asked about the stricter background checks, Richard Meron said, "I think it stinks. They want to stop the 'Meet-me-out-in-the-parking-lot' deals, but that's still going to happen. There a

Sen. Moran's letter  addressed President Barack Obama directly and he is inviting other members of the U.S. Senate to join him in his fight against global gun control as co-signers to his letter, Snyder noted. Sen. Moran noted in his biting letter: "The treaty was adopted by a procedure which violates a red line laid down by your own administration. In October 2009, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that the U.S. supported the negotiations of the treaty only by

Pollak President Barack Obama is demanding a $1.1 trillion "ransom"–or else he will not allow the debt ceiling to be raised. That's the effective offer on the table from the president and Senate Democrats. They have now refused to pass a "clean" short-term debt ceiling hike unless Republicans agree to reverse the "sequester" spending cuts in the 2011 Budget Control Act that were enacted–at Obama's suggestion–to end the last debt ceiling crisis. The president, who has invited congressional leaders to conduct talks at the White House Monday afternoon, still continues to insist that he "will not pay a ransom for Congress reopening the government and raising the debt limit." Yet he and his party are the ones insisting on a "ransom," now that Republicans
