Wicker Votes ‘No’ on Immigration Reform Bill

WICKER.SENATE.GOV 2 Hours Ago Wicker Votes 'No' on Immigration Reform Bill by  Roger Wicker WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today voted to oppose passage of the immigration reform bill, S. 744, known as the "Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act." "I voted against passage of the immigration bill because the legislation is deeply flawed and if enacted would not fix our broken system," Wicker said. "The Corker-Hoeven amendment, in my view, improved the enforcement provisions of the bill. However, more work needed to be done to alleviate my concerns – and those of my constituents – to ensure that we stop the current onslaught of illegal immigration once and for all." The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 68-32. Below are descriptions of six amendments that Senator Wicker introduced to improve the immigration reform bill. These amendments were not included in the Senate-passed bill. End 'Sanctu...

Email Exchange: Obama Tried To Steer $10 Million To Chicago Nonprofit Under Investigation

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 2 Hours Ago Email Exchange: Obama Tried To Steer $10 Million To Chicago Nonprofit Under Investigation by  Jack Flash Jun 27, 2013Jack Flash Excerpted from  The Daily Caller : While he was a sitting U.S. Senator, Barack Obama attempted to steer $10 million in taxpayer money to a Chicago nonprofit under investigation for potential fraud, according to an email sent by the nonprofit's then-director of operations. Former Save-A-Life Foundation (SALF) director of operations Vincent Davis sent an email dated June 10, 2007 to Eric Brandmeyer, an official at an Illinois hospital trying to implement SALF's controversial first-aid training programs at a local school district. Davis assured Brandmeyer that public funding for SALF would remain strong in the aftermath of a local media report on the group's potentially fraudulent activities. "Naturally, I am aware of the recent press from ABC of Chicago and am concerned about SALF funding. Please give me ...

Sessions: 'This Bill Must Never Become Law'

THE WEEKLY STANDARD 3 Hours Ago Sessions: 'This Bill Must Never Become Law' by  Daniel Halper Senator Jeff Sessions, the chief opponent of the immigration bill, released this statement in response to the Senate passing the law by a vote of 68-32: "Sponsors of this legislation—despite the array of financial, establishment and special interest support—failed to hit their target of 70 votes. The more people learned about the bill the more uneasy they became. Failure to reach 70 votes is significant, and ensures the House has plenty of space to chart an opposite course and reject this fatally flawed proposal. "So while the bill passed the Senate, this is just the beginning. "The legislation adopted today guarantees three things: immediate amnesty before security, permanent future illegal immigration, and a record surge in legal immigration that will reduce wages and increase unemployment. "There will be no border fence, no border surge, nothing but the same tir...

Senate Passes Bill That Fails to Fix Immigration and Border Security

THE FOUNDRY 2 Hours Ago Senate Passes Bill That Fails to Fix Immigration and Border Security by  James Carafano James Carafano June 27, 2013 at 4:46 pm "The Americans willalwaysdo the right thing," Winston Churchill (who was half-American) once declared, "after they've exhausted all the alternatives." The Senate proved today—in passing a massive, complicated, budget-busting bill that fails to fix our flawed immigration system and broken borders—that it has not yet exhausted all its alternatives. Instead, the Senate delivered a monstrosity of a measure that takes the worst from the failed "amnesty-first" formula tried in the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act and pairs it with the politics of Obamacare—layering in backroom deals and  Rube Goldberg-style mechanisms for funding and enforcing the law. This bill heads to the House now. Whether or not all the Senators read the 1,000-plus pages, they are responsible for it. The bill is: Amnesty first. S...

Libyan Intelligence Confirms: Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian President Morsi Involved in Benghazi

FREEDOMOUTPOST.COM 3 Hours Ago Libyan Intelligence Confirms: Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian President Morsi Involved in Benghazi by  Tim Brown Just two days after the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, reports were already coming out that the Muslim Brotherhood led Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was somehow involved in the attacks. At the beginning of June, journalist Cynthia Farahat, linked Morsi to Benghazi from the same video in the link above and recently one of Egypt's politicians was caught on a hot mic discussing war with their enemies, namely Israel and the United States. Now, according to a Libyan Intelligence document, the Muslim Brotherhood, including Egyptian President Morsi, were involved in the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, where several Americans, including U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, were killed. Pamela Geller discussed this very thing on September 15, 2012 on Fox and Friends. Image ...

Five Facts The Media Aren't Telling You About the Texas Abortion Filibuster

BREITBART.COM 2 Hours Ago Five Facts The Media Aren't Telling You About the Texas Abortion Filibuster by  John Nolte by  John Nolte 27 Jun 2013, 1:55 PM PDT  post a comment This is not a new kind of media attack against the political right. Ever since Obama assumed the presidency, under the guise of reporting, the media have attacked our "do nothing" congress as dysfunctional and incapable of accomplishing anything. According to the media, a legislative body "doing nothing" is a huge problem. As the media push to see millions of Democrats legalized through immigration reform, look for this media narrative to explode at the GOP Congress. But in reality, we all know that this is wild hypocrisy and that our media see some obstructionists who thwart the will of the people as a lot more equal than others. Take for instance, State Senator Wendy Davis, the Texas Democrat who is now a full-fledged national  Media Dahling after her 11-hour filibuster managed to block th...

‘Cracker’ Means Something Entirely Different In Florida: A Source Of ‘Pride’

MEDIAITE 2 Hours Ago 'Cracker' Means Something Entirely Different In Florida: A Source Of 'Pride' by  Tommy Christopher At the merciful  close of key prosecution witness  Rachel Jeantel 's testimony  in the trial of  George Zimmerman  for the murder of  Trayvon Martin , defense attorney  Don West asked Ms. Jeantel to describe the "culture" that she said uses the word "cracker" to describe white people. "The area I was raised in?" Jeantel asked, to which West replied "Yes." As it turns out, in the area in which Rachel Jeantel was raised, the word "cracker" isn't a racial slur at all, but rather, a proud nod to the region's history, and one's own ancestry. A whole mess of white people like to get worked up about the word "cracker," some in the mistaken belief that this will somehow result in  permission to use the n-word . Here's a secret for you: you don't need permission. This is Americ...
