Video: Yes, the 3-D printable gun really works

HOTAIR.COM 3 Hours Ago Video: Yes, the 3-D printable gun really works posted at 7:21 pm on May 6, 2013 by Allahpundit Fifty years ago, Americans dreamed of flying cars. Instead they got smart phones,  beer drones , and working handguns that can be pressed from plastic in one's own living room.  Fair trade? Jazz wrote about this  on Saturday  but the video wasn't available yet. Now it is. There are still barriers to the technology — 3-D printers remain expensive-ish, the range and accuracy of the gun is unclear at the moment, and the first test using larger ammo resulted  in an explosion  — but that will change, as it always does. Congressional Democrats are already vowing to  ban the weapons ; if you're familiar with torrent sites, you know how likely that is to succeed. I'm curious to see how professional gun manufacturers handle it. Do they start working on their own printable designs or wait to see if freelancers can come up with something tha...

Report: Two GOP Senators May Defect On Gun Control, Harry Reid Hints New Talks Underway

WEASELZIPPERS.US 7 Hours Ago Report: Two GOP Senators May Defect On Gun Control, Harry Reid Hints New Talks Underway Here we go again. Via  WaPo : At least two Republican senators who recently voted against a bipartisan proposal to expand the national gun background check system have approached Democrats in recent days about possibly restarting debate on the issue, according to two senior Senate aides familiar with the talks. The aides, who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the talks, refused to identify the two Republicans. Senate aides and activists pushing for stricter gun laws say there are likely two forthcoming windows of opportunity for the Senate to return to gun legislation: Either in late May after the consideration of an Internet taxation bill and a measure reauthorizing water resource development projects, or later in the summer, once senators willing to change their votes on the issue have had enough time to reconside...

Firearms Murder Rate Statistics Higher In Gun Control States

INQUISITR.COM 5 Hours Ago Firearms Murder Rate Statistics Higher In Gun Control States by  Patrick Frye Firearms murder rate statistics are higher in states with more Gun Control regulations. As previously reported by  The Inquisitr , the  firearms murder rate statistics  will probably receive the same reaction as the NRA Youth Day that happened over the weekend. Some in the media were horrified that kids as young as the Newtown victims were allowed to enjoy shooting a gun. The  firearms murder rate statistics  are also joined by the news of the release of a 3-D printable handgun made of plastic. Politicians are already calling for bans even though the  plastic guns are limited to one shot per non-reusable barrel . The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence named California as the state with the strongest gun control laws. Brady Campaign spokeswoman Amanda Wilcox explained how stringent the Gun Control laws are: "What is very ...

"There is no way we could have prepared for that. But that's the nature of this business." At a hearing of the Program Review and Investigations Committee, which oversees state police staffing levels, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection officials were questioned by state lawmakers regarding complaints from constituents about waiting periods for gun permits and gun ownership transfers. Col. Danny Stebbins testified that requests to the state police involving guns have increased dramatically this year. He noted that, in December, police had a backlog of 1,000 transfer applications, but that the number is now up ...

Glenn Beck Uses Nazi Bloomberg Image During Speech At NRA Convention (VIDEO)

THE HUFFINGTON POST 4 Hours Ago Glenn Beck Uses Nazi Bloomberg Image During Speech At NRA Convention (VIDEO) If the  NRA is trying to appear more moderate  these days, it doesn't quite explain why the organization scheduled Glenn Beck to speak at the group's first convention since the tragic shootings in  Aurora, Colorado and at Sandy Hook Elementary School  . Beck showed a giant image of  New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg delivering a Nazi salute  , while criticizing the mayor's extensive gun control efforts. Beck told the crowd of gun enthusiasts: When somebody argues for gun control, they are either living in self-imposed ignorance or they are just living an argument of control...I am amazed at how many of my New York friends have become absolute dopes and just will accept the soda ban, the popcorn ban, the salt ban. I've come up with a new advertisement for New York, a new slogan: "You will love New York!" Beck went on to continue to bash Bloo...

(May 6, 2013) – Today, the Texas State House approved a bill that could mark the beginning of the end of any new federal gun control measures within the boundaries of the State.  House Bill 1076 ( HB1076 ), by Representative Steve Toth, was approved on 3rd reading by a vote of 100-47 ( roll call here ). Kansas Secretary of State to Eric Holder – You Don’t Understand the Constitution, Stay Out of Kansas

GUNSSAVELIVES.NET 3 Hours Ago Kansas Secretary of State to Eric Holder – You Don't Understand the Constitution, Stay Out of Kansas Well, this is getting interesting. First, a little background. Back in April Kansas passed the  Second Amendment Protection Act (SB 102) . This bill was meant to protect the Second Amendment rights of the Kansas citizens from new federal gun control laws and would actually make it illegal to enforce those laws within the state of Kansas. Here is the description of that bill from the official legislation: "You're wrong. You don't understand the Constitution. Bring it on." First, the bill excludes from federal regulation any personal firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured commercially or privately and owned in Kansas. The bill provides that for as long as any such personal firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition remains within the borders of Kansas, it is not subject to any federal law, regulation, or authority. Second...

Biden: Gun control to wait for immigration

POLITICO.COM 1 Hour Ago Biden: Gun control to wait for immigration by  Reid J. Epstein Gun control will now have to wait for immigration reform, Vice President Joe Biden told religious leaders Monday. Biden told a meeting of about 20 representatives from faith-based organizations that the White House push on gun control won't happen until after the Senate completes an immigration reform package, people who attended the meeting said. Biden's comments, echo the sentiment from the major gun control groups and Senate aides working closely on the issue. But it marks the first time the White House has revealed such a timeline. "He doesn't think it will come back before they've made some pretty good steps on immigration," said Sister Marjorie Clark, a lobbyist for Network, the Catholic social justice organization. "He said, 'I don't think it will happen before immigration, but it will come back.'" Aside from the timing, he provided fewer detail...

FreedomWorks Slams Senate’s Vote to Pass the Internet Sales Tax

FREEDOMWORKS.ORG 3 Hours Ago FreedomWorks Slams Senate's Vote to Pass the Internet Sales Tax Washington, DC-  The Senate passed the Marketplace Fairness Act, S. 743 on Monday evening, a piece of legislation that would force online stores to collect sales taxes on behalf of other states, regardless of the web company's physical location. FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe commented, "The Internet sales tax bill was passed in the name of 'fairness for small business,' but championed by Washington insiders, big box retail lobbyists and tax collectors. With friends like that for struggling entrepreneurs, who needs enemies?" "No honest Senator can support the Marketplace Fairness Act and claim to stand for free markets at the same time. Every Senator who voted to pass the Internet sales tax bill–including Republicans- made a clear choice to support taxing without representation, picking winners and losers in the market at the expense of start-up businesses, vi...
