The slayings occurred over the weekend of Easter 2014, but the trail for the suspect had been cold for a year. Based on records from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department, Romero has failed to update his sex offender registration. Romero is now facing new charges for his failure to register as a sex offender, and is currently attempting to avoid apprehension by Law Enforcement.
