As New Terror Threats Emerge, White House Defends Obama 2012 Claims al-Qaida Decimated

THEBLAZE.COM 3 Hours Ago As New Terror Threats Emerge, White House Defends Obama 2012 Claims al-Qaida Decimated by  Fred Lucas After  locking down U.S. embassies  and beefing up domestic security based on  new intelligence about terror threats  over the weekend, the White House spent a Monday afternoon press briefing defending President Barack Obama's repeated reelection campaign claims that al-Qaida had been "decimated" or was on the run. Several reporters pressed White House spokesman Jay Carney Monday about Obama's assertion on the stump that the global terror network was on the run. Carney made a distinction between al-Qaida "core" and al-Qaida affiliates, namely al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. "There is no question that al-Qaida the core leadership, the leadership that attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001 has been decimated, al-Qaida core in the Af-Pak region has been greatly diminished and is on the run," Carney said. Taxpayers spent more than $4 million on Eric Holder’s travel costs

DAILYCALLER.COM 3 Hours Ago Taxpayers spent more than $4 million on Eric Holder's travel costs by  Alex Pappas Tweet Taxpayers spent more than $4 million over the last four years on Attorney General Eric Holder's travel costs, according to a new report. Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, says it determined those figures detailing Holder's travel costs from March of 2009 to August 2012 through a Freedom of Information Act request. The group deemed $697,525.20 of those expenses as "taxpayer-funded personal travel expenses." Judicial Watch did not compare those figures to other attorneys general. But the president of the group blasted Holder, who uses government aircraft for security reasons. "I hope these documents help Attorney General Holder understand the burden his unnecessary personal travel places on American taxpayers," said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. "The notion that federal officials such as Holder have access to a flee...
