Open mike reveals N.J. senators’ contempt for gun owners, confiscation goal

EXAMINER.COM 3 Hours Ago Open mike reveals N.J. senators' contempt for gun owners, confiscation goal by  David Codrea A microphone left on after the gavel fell at a  New Jersey  Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee hearing Thursday shows the "true view" of some of the senators toward gun owners, and provides proof that gun confiscation is a goal on which they agree, the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs revealed in an email to members and supporters today. The group is the official NRA state association. "The discussion that was caught, apparently among several senators and staff, is outrageous, and reveals legislators' true view of gun owners," ANJRPC reports. "The discussion appears to be among  Senator Loretta Weinberg  (D37),  Senator Sandra Cunningham  (D31),  Senator Linda Greenstein  (D14), and at least one member of Senate Democratic staff," the gun group's email explains. 5 Universities in Pa. Allowing Guns on Campus

NBC PHILADELPHIA 1 Hour Ago 5 Universities in Pa. Allowing Guns on Campus by  Michael Rubinkam advertisement Students on some Pennsylvania college campuses might be carrying more than their books. At least five Pennsylvania state-owned universities are now allowing guns on campus after the state's lawyers concluded that an outright ban on weapons was probably unconstitutional. Kutztown, Shippensburg, Edinboro, Slippery Rock and Millersville universities have all quietly changed their policies over the past year to reflect the advice of lawyers in the governor's office and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. "Our feeling is that police, who are trained in handling firearms, shooting accuracy during stressful situations and in making quick decisions and judgments, should be the ones with weapons" Related Stories Students in those schools are now allowed to have weapons on campus, though they are still generally banned from school buildings and athletic e

Benghazi Whistleblower Attorney: I Have More People Who Want to Testify

THEBLAZE.COM 3 Hours Ago Benghazi Whistleblower Attorney: I Have More People Who Want to Testify by  Madeleine Morgenstern Bloodstains at the main gate believed to be from one of the American staff members of the U.S. Consulate, after an attack that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Benghazi, Libya. (AP) "Everyone in the intelligence community knew this attack was coming" The attorney for one of the Benghazi whistleblowers told  TheBlaze Radio  that he has more people who want to come forward to testify. Joseph diGenova, attorney for acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Counterterrorism Mark Thompson, did not specify how many new witnesses there were, but said they had been "on the ground" and "in the fight" during the September assault that left four Americans dead. Thompson was one of three whistleblowers who went before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. "We'

The Benghazi Lie

NATIONAL REVIEW 3 Hours Ago The Benghazi Lie by  Mark Steyn Shortly before last November's election I took part in a Fox News documentary on Benghazi, whose other participants included the former governor of New Hampshire John Sununu. Making chit-chat while the camera crew were setting up, Governor Sununu said to me that in his view Benghazi mattered because it was "a question of character." That's correct. On a question of foreign policy or counterterrorism strategy, men of good faith can make the wrong decisions. But a failure of character corrodes the integrity of the state. That's why career diplomat Gregory Hicks's testimony was so damning — not so much for the new facts as for what those facts revealed about the leaders of this republic. In this space in January, I noted that Hillary Clinton had denied ever seeing Ambassador Stevens's warnings about deteriorating security in Libya on the grounds that "1.43 million cables come to my office"

Formerly Skeptical BBC Editor Changes Tune: Benghazi Is Now ‘Very Serious’ and ‘Heads Will Roll’

THEBLAZE.COM 2 Hours Ago Formerly Skeptical BBC Editor Changes Tune: Benghazi Is Now 'Very Serious' and 'Heads Will Roll' by  Jason Howerton BBC editor Mark Mardell (Twitter) "This is now very serious, and I suspect heads will roll" BBC Editor Mark Mardell on Friday admitted that he had all but dismissed allegations of a Benghazi cover-up before ABC's bombshell report on the Benghazi talking points, which were deliberately edited to remove references to terror. "This is now very serious, and I suspect heads will roll," Mardell  writes . "The White House will be on the defensive for a while." The BBC editor said ABC's report on the talking points provide the "first hard evidence that the State Department did ask for changes to the CIA's original assessment." He predicted that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will inevitably have to explain why her department made the significant edits. "In the interests o

Delaware: State House to Vote on Anti-Gun Bill This Tuesday

NRAILA.ORG 8 Hours Ago Delaware: State House to Vote on Anti-Gun Bill This Tuesday Contact your state Representative TODAY in Opposition to Senate Bill 16 Your immediate action is needed to defeat anti-gun legislation!   The Delaware House of Representatives is expected to vote on  Senate Bill 16  on Tuesday, May 14.  Sponsored by state Senator Margaret Rose Henry (D-2), SB 16 would require a gun owner to notify law enforcement if a firearm was stolen or lost within an arbitrary time period, and carries severe penalties and fines for violations.   Contact  your state Representative NOW and urge him or her to oppose and vote against Senate Bill 16. Originally, SB 16 required the gun owner to report a lost or stolen firearm within 48 hours, but a Senate floor amendment that was adopted expands that time limit to seven days.  This bill passed in the state Senate by a close 11 to 10 vote last week.  SB 16 does nothing to solve an existing crime problem but instead imposes policies to pena

Biden On Gun Control: “We’re Going Right Back At It”

WEASELZIPPERS.US 3 Hours Ago Biden On Gun Control: "We're Going Right Back At It" Knock yourself out, Joe. Even if you can ram it though the Senate it will quickly die in the House. Via  WaPo : Vice President Biden, in  a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine , says the White House is jumping "right back" into the debate over guns, despite the recent failure to pass background check legislation. Biden says he got calls from four senators who voted against the legislation expressing some degree of regret. "I can name you four senators who called me and said, 'Jesus, I guess you were right – maybe we can find some other way of doing this. Can we bring this back up?'" Biden said. He added: "We're going right back at it. The biggest thing that's changed is that the people who were for the background checks are saying it will be a determining issue. There's pace on the ball now; this is a different country. I'm convinced we

Ted Cruz

CRUZ.SENATE.GOV 3 Hours Ago Ted Cruz Press Release of Senator Cruz Sen. Cruz: IRS has no place assessing or monitoring Americans' personal health information Friday, May 10, 2013 WASHINGTON, DC  – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today released the following statement regarding the IRS's admission of targeting conservative groups: Today's news about the IRS admitting it inappropriately targeted conservative, tea party groups is an outrage. What's just as concerning is the expansive role this agency is charged to take in enforcing Obamacare. An agency that has admitted to engaging in such corrupt, political activities has no place assessing or monitoring Americans' personal health information. According to GAO, the IRS has 47 different taxes and regulations it is expected to administer, which not only include collecting and enforcing taxes, but also mining our health care data and monitoring whether Americans' health plans meet Obamacare thresholds. The Obama administration has used the IRS as a political weapon. The IRS may claim that it is 'sorry.' But given the damage that has been done, their apology is not accepted," said Niger Innis, Chief Strategist for  TheTeaParty.net . "What would Democrats have done if the Nixon administration ordered the IRS to actively target the National Organization of Women or the American Civil Liberties Union? Nixon had his own enemies list and resigned. These activities are eerily similar, and yet Ob
