Tennessee: Second Pro-Gun Bill Signed into Law Yesterday, Governor Bill Haslam (R) signed  Senate Bill 1701  into law.  Sponsored by state Senator Mark Green (R-22), SB 1701 redefines "motor vehicle" under Tennessee's parking lot law to include all vehicles lawfully possessed by the permit holder with the exception of government or business-owned vehicles. The Tennessee Senate passed SB 1701 unanimously on February 5.  SB 1701 passed in the state House by an  83 to 6 vote  on February 20.  This is the second pro-gun bill signed into law in Tennessee this year and it will take effect  on May 1, 2014 .    John Hames
