Hollywood Fears New York's Gun Control Laws Will Hamper Productions

BREITBART.COM 1 Hour Ago Hollywood Fears New York's Gun Control Laws Will Hamper Productions by  Breitbart News 1 May 2013, 2:47 PM PDT post a comment View Discussion The national effort stalled, but New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's successful push for new legislation could  negatively impact gun-related productions  in the state.  Officials in the movie and television industry say the new laws could prevent them from using the lifelike assault weapons and high-capa city magazines that they have employed in shows like "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and films like "The Dark Knight Rises...." Industry workers say that they need to use real weapons for verisimilitude, that it would be impractical to try to manufacture fake weapons that could fire blanks, and that the entertainment industry should not be penalized accidentally by a law intended as a response to mass shootings.... But some lawmakers, feeling stung by conservative and upstate voters over the

THEBLAZE.COM 3 Hours Ago Michigan Dad Decides to Open Carry .45-Cal. Handgun at His Daughter's School to Make a Point: 'Notice the Lack of Pandemonium From the Gun' by  Jason Howerton Seeking to make a point about firearms, a Michigan man decided to open carry his .45-cal. handgun at his daughter's school and later  uploaded the footage to YouTube . The father says he made sure to first notify the school, the Michigan State Police, the county sheriff and other local law enforcement officials that he would be exercising his right to carry a gun. "Decided to exercise my rights to carry a gun. In a school. As many of you know, federal law prohibits civilians (me) from carrying a gun near a school unless licensed by their state. As a CPL holder I am licensed," the man wrote in the YouTube video description. "I want to exercise my rights, but not endanger myself or the rights of others while doing it." The man also urges others not to attempt to carry a

Benghazi whislteblower: Obama admin refuses to bring mastermind to justice

CANADAFREEPRESS.COM 2 Hours Ago Benghazi whislteblower: Obama admin refuses to bring mastermind to justice by  Robert Laurie Why are we not surprised..... It's been seven months since Barack Obama promised that his administration would leave no stone unturned as it sought the terrorist masterminds responsible for the Benghazi attacks.  Since then, there's been no capture, no charges, and no justice – only a long string of conflicting stories and legal obstruction. Now, in part two of Special Report with Brett Baier's investigation, a whistleblower alleges that Obama is completely aware of who was responsible, but is refusing to take action.  The anonymous source is a special operator who watched the attacks unfold in real time, and debriefed some of the responders. He claims that "We have all the capability, all the training, all the capacity to kill or capture not only the terrorist involved with the specific events of 9/11 and Ambassador Stevens' death, but terr

Poll: Obama gets negative ratings on immigration, guns

POLITICO.COM 2 Hours Ago Poll: Obama gets negative ratings on immigration, guns by  Donovan Slack More people disapprove than approve of the way President Obama is handling immigration and guns, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University. Fifty percent don't like the way he is handing immigration policy, compared to 40 percent who do, the poll found. That negative rating is due in large part to independents, 55 percent of whom disapprove of his handling of the issue. Only 34 percent approve. On gun policy, some 52 percent disapprove of his approach, while 41 percent approve. That could be due in part to the loss in the Senate of the gun-control proposal he pushed for expanded background checks for gun buyers. He generally gets good marks on foreign policy in the poll --  47 percent approve of his overall approach to foreign policy, 54 percent approve of his handling of North Korea, and 55 percent approving of his handling of terrorism. On his handling of Syria, voters are ba

BUSTED… Napolitano Thanked MO Lib Governor for Breaking Law – Passing Private Info to DHS

THEGATEWAYPUNDIT.COM 4 Hours Ago BUSTED… Napolitano Thanked MO Lib Governor for Breaking Law – Passing Private Info to DHS by  Jim Hoft The accusations were  out there  that the Missouri Department of Revenue was sharing private citizens' information to DHS. Now there's proof. Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano sent a letter to Missouri Governor Jay Nixon thanking him for providing information on private citizens to DHS. As  Dana Loesch  reported: Missouri Governor Jay Nixon  repeatedly denied  knowing anything about Missouri illegally sharing its  citizens private CCW information  with the federal government, even after his own head of Missouri Highway Patrol  contradicted him in a public hearing. Now we've learned that Nixon not only knew about the violation of Missouri law, but he was thanked in a letter by Janet Napolitano. Here is a copy of that  letter : Missouri law — signed into effect by Gov. Nixon himself — prohibits full compliance with the Real ID

In defense of Ted Cruz

WASHINGTON EXAMINER 1 Hour Ago In defense of Ted Cruz by  Andrew Ferguson Sen. Ted Cruz caused an uproar this week after calling some of his Senate Republican colleagues " squishes " for their votes in favor of stricter gun control measures. Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment notwithstanding, it's hard to see why this created so much controversy. The media has typically toasted any Republican who is willing to criticize fellow Republicans. This has been true, at various times, of John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Richard Lugar, Jon Huntsman, Charlie Crist and Bob Bennett, among others. Of course, in such cases, it's okay, because those politicians have criticized the Republican Party for being too extreme. They were attacking conservatives and fighting conservative ideas. So, when they were criticizing members of their party, they were truth tellers and reasonable Republicans. "There is being principled, and then there is being a jerk. Putting down yo

How Does This Happen?

Wednesday, May 1st  How Does This Happen? There’s a big issue of debate today surrounding all this anger against terrorism. Boston is very fresh in our minds and the scenes of blood, the rescue workers, and the dead police officer and such. Now, can you imagine if the Boston bombers, twenty years from now, became a distinguished professor at Harvard University? That’s exactly what happened with a convicted cop killer, Kathy Boudin, became a professor at Columbia University. How does this happen? Boudin was released in 2003, serving hardly any time in prison, and the media coverage that opposed her has been very
