Second Amednment Foundation asks SCOTUS to end part of Maryland gun law

WJLA.COM 5 Hours Ago Second Amednment Foundation asks SCOTUS to end part of Maryland gun law BALTIMORE (AP) - A gun rights group is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down part of Maryland's handgun permit law. Continue reading The Daily Record reports  that the Second Amendment Foundation petitioned the court this week, saying the requirement that applicants state a "good and substantial reason" to carry a firearm violates the right to keep and bear arms. The Bellevue, Wash.-based group says a constitutional right should not require a special dispensation from police and the too-vague standard allows broad discretion to reject a request. Attorney General Douglas Gansler says he will oppose the request for review. The group sued on behalf of Raymond Woollard of Hampstead. In March, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a judge's ruling that the law violated the Second Amendment. Second Amednment Foundation asks SCOTUS to end part of Maryland gun law h...

Barack Obama’s Lawlessness

COMMENTARY MAGAZINE 9 Hours Ago Barack Obama's Lawlessness by  Peter Wehner Both  Charles Krauthammer  and  Ramesh Ponnuru  have spoken about the lawlessness of the Obama administration. Examples include (but are not limited to) unilaterally delaying implementation of the Affordable Care Act's employer mandate, issuing health-care edicts that undermine the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, making unconstitutional "recess appointments" to the National Labor Relations Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, refusing to enforce current immigration laws related to illegal immigrants who were brought to America as children, and waving welfare work requirements. This is all part of a pattern in which Mr. Obama enforces laws he likes and refuses to enforce (or unilaterally alters) laws he disagrees with. I suppose the temptation to act as a potentate is understandable; but it also happens to be illegal. The president, after all, has the constitutiona...

I had not thought about this: the Zimmerman trial (and did you think of this?)

GRETAWIRE.FOXNEWSINSIDER.COM 9 Hours Ago I had not thought about this: the Zimmerman trial (and did you think of this?) In looking at the case, one point defense lawyer O'Mara made in closing argument stands out with me: the 4 minute silence. It is the 'oldest trick in the book' to use silence to get the jury to understand some important time matter, but what I had not thought about is this: the 4 minute time period began when Trayvon Martin was on the phone with his friend and when he started running at the urging of his friend. It would have taken less than one minute to run to where he was staying (I have been there at the scene) and he obviously did not run home. So the reasonable inference is that he remained in the area to confront George Zimmerman. Who confronted who as the attack commenced would be important to me in deciding this case if I were a juror. It identifies the aggressor at a key point in the time line and the non aggressor would be more likely to have a...

Former Electric-car Engineer: Electric Cars Pollute More Than Gas

THENEWAMERICAN.COM 4 Hours Ago Former Electric-car Engineer: Electric Cars Pollute More Than Gas by  Selwyn Duke Is the only "green" aspect of electric cars the money some companies make off them? If former plug-in advocate and General Motors engineer Ozzie Zehner (shown) is correct, this is exactly the case. Author of the book  Green Illusions , Zehner once built his own hybrid car that could run on electricity or natural gas. And, he  writes  in a recent article entitled "Unclean at Any Speed," he was convinced cars such as his "would help reduce both pollution and fossil-fuel dependence." But he now says, "I was wrong." Electric cars certainly are de rigueur among righteous environmentalists. They receive first-son status, with nations and states offering tax incentives for buying them, special driving and parking privileges (use of HOV lanes and VIP spots), as well as other benefits. But their supposed benefit to the environment is illusory,...

Evidently, they're an equal opportunity employer and hire the mentally ill: Ever wondered why Texas Democrats haven't won a statewide election in 20 years?  pic.twitter.com/bCTalqCJfQ  |  @BeccaJLower   @SteveWorks4You   #tcot — Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain)  July 12, 2013 This is what hopeless political failure looks like , people. Democrats in Texas have been losing so long that, in  an insane and futile bid for relevance , they desperately seized hold of  the losing side  of a divisive issue.  Polls show 2-to-1 support  for the pro-life (Republican) position. Only  evil hate-filled weirdos like Cec...

Texas Police Confiscate Jars of Urine, Feces From Abortion Activists

LIFE NEWS 4 Hours Ago Texas Police Confiscate Jars of Urine, Feces From Abortion Activists by  Steven Ertelt by Steven Ertelt | Austin, TX | LifeNews.com | 7/12/13 6:09 PM State Texas police have issued a statement confirming they have confiscated numerous jars of feces and urine that abortion activists planned to throw at pro-life legislators today who are debating the late-term abortion ban. As LifeNews reported , abortion activists also planned to throw tampons and feminine pads at lawmakers, but the Texas Department of Public Safety  statement  below confirms the planned assaults on legislators are much worse than that. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today received information that individuals planned to use a variety of items or props to disrupt legislative proceedings at the Texas Capitol. Therefore for safety purposes, DPS recommended to the State Preservation Board that all bags be inspected prior to allowing individuals to enter the Senate gal...

Up To The Jury Now

Friday, July 12th Zimmerman Trial Closing Arguments Today we heard the closing arguments from the defense as well as the rebuttal from the prosecution in the trial of George Zimmerman. Yesterday we heard the prosecution's closing statement, which was laced with profanity, conspiracy theories, innuendo and even took a shot at yours truly. In the end, I don't think the prosecution's closing argument was all that convincing in proving that George Zimmerman did not need to resort to self defense to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm. The prosecution's rebuttal focused on the idea of “what...
