Wait Until You See How a High School Textbook Summarizes the Rights Guaranteed in the Second Amendment

THEBLAZE.COM 7 Hours Ago Wait Until You See How a High School Textbook Summarizes the Rights Guaranteed in the Second Amendment by  Jason Howerton Controversy is brewing around a high school in Denton, Texas, that is said to be using a United States history book that seems to summarize the Second Amendment inaccurately. And there are several other schools currently using the book. "The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia," the definition in the book, " United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination ," which acts as a study guide for the Advanced Placement U.S. history test, reads. Source: "United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination" The amendment as ratified by the U.S. reads [emphasis added]: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,  shall not be infringed. " Based on the book's i

Another mass shooting….In a gun free zone

IRISHCENTRAL 2 Hours Ago Another mass shooting….In a gun free zone On a naval base where it is against the rules to carry weapons and in a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the US, a gunman chooses to disobey their rules and gun down a dozen victims. The shooting at the Washington Naval Yard in Washington DC today, follows a familiar pattern in mass shooting history: The gunman finds a location where he knows his victims cannot shoot back and he can attain maximum mayhem. Today that resulted in 12 innocent people shot dead and others left wounded. No matter what the motives behind this shooting, whether it is terrorist related, a grievance, or just a mental case on a rampage, this incident shows it is time to stop disarming or making it almost impossible for law abiding citizens to be armed. Most people would think a military installation would be a poor choice for a gunman to find unarmed, defenseless victims. After all our military personnel are highly trained in the safe

Texas Rep. John Culberson’s Staff Hate Sen. Ted Cruz For Holding Events in Texas

REDSTATE 2 Hours Ago Texas Rep. John Culberson's Staff Hate Sen. Ted Cruz For Holding Events in Texas by  Erick Erickson By:  Erick Erickson  ( Diary ) | September 16th, 2013 at 08:03 PM | RESIZE: AAA Everything that is wrong with Washington Republicans is summed up in this story. You have a top aide for Eric Cantor going into the Republican Study Committee meeting to discuss terms of surrender over the continuing resolution and debt ceiling. You have an aide to Senator Ted Cruz respond with a solution to the Cantor aide. Then you have an aide to Rep. John Culberson of Texas start yelling at the Ted Cruz aide that Senator Cruz isn't "dealing in reality." This is where it gets funny and ridiculous. Rep. Culberson's aide's chief complaint is that the a sitting Senator from Texas dared to hold an event in … well … Texas. I'm baffled. Interestingly, you know this is a leak from people opposed to Ted Cruz because it reveals the identity of the Cruz staffer and

GOP moving forward with food-stamps cuts, and Democrats aren’t going to like it

HOTAIR.COM 2 Hours Ago GOP moving forward with food-stamps cuts, and Democrats aren't going to like it by  Erika Johnsen posted at 8:41 pm on September 16, 2013 by Erika Johnsen The House finally  filed the food-stamps portion  of their bifurcated farm bill on Monday, complete with the utterly, contemptibly "draconian" 5 percent cut to current spending levels that the opposition feared, and the ensuing level of  drama and demagoguery that Democrats will soon begin spouting is likely to be second only to the overarching defund-ObamaCare/fund-the-government fight that also has a deadline of September 30th.  Politico  reports on the food-stamps legislation, with rather a heavy helping of partisanship on the side: House Republicans released their substitute nutrition title for the farm bill Monday, a 109-page package that seeks to tighten eligibility rules for food stamps and end state waivers for able-bodied adults who are working less than 20 hours a week. At least 3 milli

Left Immediately Blames NRA, Not Enough Gun Control For Navy Yard Shooting

M.TOWNHALL.COM 5 Hours Ago Left Immediately Blames NRA, Not Enough Gun Control For Navy Yard Shooting by  Byron York It's 3:10 pm on Washington D.C. and we still don't know who carried out the shooting at the Navy Yard this morning. Despite an absence of the facts, liberals and their allies in the media, are already blaming a lack of more gun control, gun owners and the NRA for the horrific attack that left at least 12 dead. First, CNN's David Frum: Next, Buzzfeed's  Andrew Kaczynski: How the NRA handles a mass shooting: Silence  http://t.co/vKT2cXqTp5 — Andrew Kaczynski (@BuzzFeedAndrew)  September 16, 2013 It should be noted Washington D.C. is a gun free zone, as are military bases and the Navy Yard. UPDATE: The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has weighed in. Incidents like the  #NavyYardShooting  will continue to occur with regularity until legislators stop allowing the  #NRA  to write gun policy. — CSGV (@CSGV)  September 16, 2013 Left Immediately Blames NRA, Not En

Brad Thor: Denying Service Members Right to Be Armed On-Duty 'Reprehensible'

BREITBART.COM 4 Hours Ago Brad Thor: Denying Service Members Right to Be Armed On-Duty 'Reprehensible' by  Brad Thor by  AWR Hawkins  16 Sep 2013, 2:52 PM PDT  post a comment Thor is outraged over the fact that policies continue to prevent our service men and women from being armed and therefore from being able to defend their lives on military bases and installations around the country. He is especially bothered by the refusal to face the truth about such military gun free zones even after the gut-wrenching experience at Ft. Hood in 2009. So as President Obama mourns "yet another mass shooting" in America and television pundits politicize the shootings in hopes of passing even more gun control, Thor mourns the "gun free" policies themselves.
