Gallup Poll: Majority of Americans Don’t Support Gun Control

Shared from Zite  A  new  Gallup poll  finds that Americans support for gun control has declined by a wide margin since its high in 2012.  The poll found only 47 percent in favor of gun control, an 11 percent decrease from 58 percent in 2012 following the horrific massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut.  "Public demand for stricter gun sale laws is returning to levels seen throughout the past decade. After seeing a spike in support for stricter laws following the Newtown school shooting in 2012, the call for more stringent laws has settled to near-record lows. The percentage of Americans who say that handguns should not be banned is at a near-record high as well," Gallup  writes . John Hames shared with you:   ...

BREAKING: Lawsuit Filed to Allow Registration of New Machine Guns

Shared from Zite   Filed yesterday in Dallas, the lawsuit of Hollis v. Holder is suing the U.S. Department of Justice to allow legal entities such as trusts and corporations to legally register new machine guns. As you probably know, machine guns are regulated under the National Firearms Act, and in most states (as well as on the federal level) possession of an item regulated under that act is a felony  unless  it is properly registered. However, starting in 1986 the U.S. Government declared that they would no longer approve new registration applications for machine guns — they "closed" the registry. The newly filed lawsuit is seeking to change that. John Hames shared with you:   BREAKING: Lawsuit Filed to Allow Registration of New Machi...

More Guns Plus Less War Equals Real Security

Shared from Zite   As with most infringements on liberty, gun control will not only make us less free, it will make us less safe. Respecting the right of the people to keep and bear arms is the original and best homeland security policy. Restricting the right of people to arm themselves leaves them with no effective defense against violent criminals or a tyrannical government. John Hames shared with you:   More Guns Plus Less War Equals Real Security ronpaulinstitute.org - More Guns Plus Less War Equals Real Security Last week's tragic shootings in Canada and Washington state are certain to lead to new calls for gun control. The media-generated fear over "lone wolf terrorists" will enable the gun control lobby to smear Second Amendment supporters as "pro-terrorist." Marketing gun con...
