Keep It Secret. Keep It Safe.

USACARRY.COM 1 Day Ago Keep It Secret. Keep It Safe. by Johnathan Celso There is much to be learned by Gandalf the Grey when it comes to being the responsible possessor and carrier of a source of extraordinary power. What typically makes a great lie believable is when there is a little truth mixed in, and what generally makes for a great fiction novel is when the reader can relate to the principles off of which it is built. J.R.R. Tolkien’s main character in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the wizard Gandalf, understood some very real obstacles when it came to an ordinary person being given an extraordinary tool that tips the balances of strength and ability compared to that of their fellow man. Here, Gandalf is leaving a small hobbit with the single most sought after possession in Middle Earth and in all of his wisdom conjures up a few simple words that summarizes everything the bearer will need to know for the rest of his life, “Keep it secret. Keep it safe.” Isn’t that exactly

Manchin backpedals on gun control after constitutents confront him

HOTAIR.COM 11 Hours Ago Manchin backpedals on gun control after constitutents confront him by Ed Morrissey posted at 8:31 am on January 24, 2013 by Ed Morrissey Remember the summer of 2009? Members of Congress came home to hold town-hall meetings as usual in August, part of their annual listening-tour strategy to keep incumbents in favor back in home states and districts. When voters started showing up in droves to berate these Senators and Representatives over ObamaCare, however, the town-hall meetings started getting canceled, and those that did continue made for great moments on YouTube — especially the declaration from former US Representative Baron Hill (D-IN), who declared that no one could tape the meeting because he didn’t want it to end up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c2UULIgCQg&feature=player_embedded This is my town hall meeting, and I set the rules. I’ve had these rules — [booing] — Uh, let me repeat that one more time. This is my town-hall m

Sen. Ted Cruz Locked and Loaded to Defeat Feinstein’s Gun Ban

PJMEDIA.COM 6 Hours Ago Sen. Ted Cruz Locked and Loaded to Defeat Feinstein’s Gun Ban by Bryan Preston Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) released the following statement today, after CA Sen. Dianne Feinstein unveiled her sweeping assault weapons ban bill. Washington politicians shouldn’t be taking advantage of recent tragedy to try to push an aggressive gun control agenda. Real assault weapons—machine guns—are already functionally illegal, and they have been since 1934. This proposal would have done nothing to prevent the terrible murders in Newtown, but it would limit the constitutional liberties of law-abiding citizens. And gun control doesn’t work – the empirical data overwhelmingly demonstrate that strict gun-control laws consistently produce more crime and more murders. The Second Amendment exists to ensure that law-abiding Americans can protect their homes and families, and I look forward to helping lead the fight to defeat this bill and to protect our constitutional right to keep an

(Photo by Kolten Parker) As the federal government moves forward on its plans to tighten gun restrictions, Texas lawmakers are proposing legislation to expand gun rights in the state. The latest proposal is HB 700 filed Thursday by state Rep. George Lavender, R-Texarkana, that would allow individuals with concealed handgun licenses to carry weapons in plain view on a belt or shoulder holster. “For some it is a matter of personal safety, for others it is simply a convenience/personal preference issue,” said Lavender, who carried similar legislation that failed last session. He added others view it as a constitutional issue. Some officials in statewide offices have said they support “open carry” in Texas. Attorney General Greg Ab

Coroner Confirms: No Assault Weapon Used in Sandy Hook Shooting

CONSERVATIVEBYTE.COM 7 Hours Ago Coroner Confirms: No Assault Weapon Used in Sandy Hook Shooting Posted on January 24, 2013 by Conservative Byte An AR-15, or the so-called “Assault Weapon”, was not used in the school shooting. The shooter even tried weeks earlier to buy a rifle but was turned down in the background check. So he had to kill his Mother to steal her rifle. There were initial reports, right after the shooting, that police found the AR-15 in his car, NOT IN THE SCHOOL. The rifle was not used. The shooter went into the school with 4 handguns, NOT an Assault Rifle as the media has charged. In the initial hours of this shooting, the Police said they found the rifle in the car. But the Administration-controlled MSM had a pre-planned attack already waiting, to ban so-called assault weapons and jumped on that line of reporting, knowing it was a lie, which included people like Piers Morgan who said the shooter used an AR-15 that shoots hundreds of rounds per minute, as if

Wheelchair Bound US Army Vet Draws Gun on Suspected Home Invader, Scares Him Off

GUNSSAVELIVES.NET 4 Hours Ago Wheelchair Bound US Army Vet Draws Gun on Suspected Home Invader, Scares Him Off A 53 year old US Army vet, who is confined to a wheelchair, did not hesitate when he heard someone kick in his door while he was in bed on Wednesday. The vet reached into his nightstand and grabbed his pistol. “I pointed the gun at him and told him he better get the hell out, and he flew out like a bat,” he said. “He’s lucky I didn’t kill him.” “I wasn’t going to wait to see if he had [a gun],” he said. “All I know is he was in my house. Things are starting to get out of hand, and if people don’t start standing up for themselves and putting crooks in the ground, the law is just going to slap them on the wrist and let them go.” Authorities have one possible suspect who have they have identified from evidence left at the scene, but he has not yet been found. Once again, another self defense story that probably won’t make it into the statistics or reports on such th
