Patriots, 'Our Cause is Noble'

The Patriot Post

"The Constitution which at any time exists, 'till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole People is sacredly obligatory upon all."
George Washington, 1796

Fellow Patriot,

Today marks the anniversary of the ratification of our Constitution's Bill of Rights, the common name for its first 10 amendments. The purpose of these amendments was and remains the enumeration of limitations on the federal government in order to protect key natural rights (those endowed by our Creator) to liberty and property.

As we approach the end of 2011, the prospect for restoring the Liberty enshrined in our Constitution continues to improve. The reason for this progress is that the number of Americans joining the debate about the proper role of government authorized by our Constitution is growing. But we have many more battles to win.

Of the original Patriots' fight for Liberty, George Washington wrote, "Our cause is noble; it is the cause of mankind!" Indeed, it remains our noble cause today.

As the "Voice of Essential Liberty," The Patriot Post is now a primary touchstone for the rapidly growing ranks of grassroots conservatives, and our mission is more vital now than ever. It will, at best, take several election cycles to re-establish the primacy of First Principles and Rule of Law, and to reset our course toward Liberty. So we remain steadfast in our mission and continue the charge in earnest.

We need your help to maintain the momentum of our mission and charge, and we depend on you standing with us on the frontlines of Liberty.

Of those who refused to rise and fight for Liberty, Samuel Adams said, "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

However, of those who did join the "animated contest," Adams wrote, "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

Like you, we have never wavered in our effort to set brushfires of Liberty across our great nation, and our resolve to see Liberty restored remains unbendable.

As you know, our humble enterprise is not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization. We accept no online or e-mail advertising in order to avert any undue influence on our mission. Our operations and mission are funded by -- and depend entirely upon -- the voluntary financial support of American Patriots like you.

Though our operations budget is a small fraction of what it costs other influential organizations to advance their message, providing the nation's leading journal of Liberty to countless legions of grassroots conservatives is not free.

It takes a skilled team of writers and editors and a great management and technical team to ensure the quality you expect from The Patriot Post. Internet publishing is expensive: it requires sophisticated hardware, custom software, installations and offices. We also have substantial legal, accounting and insurance costs.

Despite these considerable expenses, I'm proud to say that we publish The Patriot Post for less than one dollar per reader per year -- much less when one considers that our readers forward our publications to many thousands of others, and repost our content on blogs, social networking sites and personal websites. High-school teachers, and college and university professors use our content to teach their students, and state political and cultural organizations reprint our content for their members.

Notably, members of the U.S. Congress and state legislatures around the nation circulate our content to their colleagues.

In other words, we are very good stewards of every dollar you send to support our mission.

We still have $122,340 left to raise in order to meet our 2011 Year-End Campaign goal. Please note that if you are a member of the military, a student, missionary, or if you simply don't have the means of supporting us right now, please allow us to provide The Patriot Post as a service to you. But if you are able, please take a moment and make a secure online contribution to The Patriot Post today. If you prefer to support us by mail, please use our printable donor form, or print the donor guide below.

"Remember," as George Washington exclaimed, "you are Freemen, fighting for the blessings of liberty -- that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men."

I thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you as editor and publisher of The Patriot Post. On behalf of our editors and staff, and National Advisory Committee, thank you, and God bless you and your family this Christmas season.

Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis!
Libertas aut Mortis!
