Patriots, On Tuesday I shot from the hip...sending you an email from a reader who asserted that your Patriot Post Team is overpaid and underworked. Nothing could be further from the truth and frankly, that email and a couple others like it really set me off. We are more than a Team, we are brothers and sisters -- and I do not tolerate insults against family. I do not make apology for my response to that insult, but I do apologize for the fact that in reply, we heard from some military, student readers and retired Patriots on fixed income -- from whom we do not ask support -- that they, in fact had been inspired to support us. This was not my intent, and I would request again, for those who are not able to support us, your prayers in support of Liberty and our role in securing it for the future. Send nothing further. Reasonable questions about how we use your money should be asked, especially in these extremely difficult economic times, and I hope we have done a good job of assuring you that we have a very lean and austere budget, and rely to a great extent on unpaid editors and staff to get the job done. We operate within very narrow margins. That being said, please accept my gratitude to those of you who supported our 2012 Independence Day Campaign, both in spirit and resources. By way of update, we currently stand at about 94 percent of our goal today. On behalf of our staff and National Advisory Committee, thank you for your enduring commitment to Liberty! Pro Deo et Constitutione — Libertas aut Mors "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." -- Samuel Adams |
