Poll: Americans want gun law enforcement, not new gun laws

While President Obama and his liberal buddies call for more gun legislation, the American people think enforcement of current laws is more important.According to a new Rasmussen poll, 57 percent of Americans think “stricter enforcement of existing gun control laws” is more important than creating new gun laws.Only 32 percent of those polled think creation of new gun control laws is more important than stricter enforcement. The remaining 11 percent were unsure.In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, President Obama introduced 23 new proposals on gun control and restrictions. Senior White House advisor David Plouffe recently called them “commonsense proposals” with “enormous support” from the American people.Yet if the POTUS really wants to listen to what the people want, he needs to face the fact that enforcement — not legislation — is the word of the day.The Rasmussen survey of 1,000 American adults was conducted over the phone on January 16–17.
