Nancy Pelosi has the Republican Party all figured out. Are you ready for this? According to Nancy Pelosi, the GOP is essentially at war with the government. Pelosi. Her latest remarks were stunning when she said, "By and large the approach that the Republicans take is that they are there to shrink the role of government to a point where really — it recalls to mind the statement of President Washington, who cautioned against a party — a political party at war with its own government. So if you don’t believe in government, then, bless their hearts, they act upon their beliefs.” Don’t believe in government? Conservatives are for limited government, though some actions on the part of the GOP in recent history may make you question their dedication to this principle. To a liberal like Nancy Pelosi, we either accept the irresponsible growth in big government or you don't want any government, which will lead to dirty air and water and sick children to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, this line from Pelosi is nothing new and I'm pretty sure the American people see right through it. No Debt Problem? Earlier in the week, Barack Obama told ABC's George Stephanopoulos "We don't have an immediate crisis in terms of debt. In fact, for the next 10 years, it's gonna be in a sustainable place." He also said that he has no intention of balancing the budget for the sake of balance. This is extremely hypocritical considering this is the same man who said that Bush's debt increase of $4 trillion over eight years was “irresponsible” and “un-patriotic.” We've yet to hear how the president would characterize his own $6 trillion debt accumulation over four years. My guess is that he no longer considers this “irresponsible” and “un-patriotic.” Then we have Democratic Rep. John Conyers, who is the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee saying that, “The debt is not endangering us a bit -- not at all. Our economists say we’re in debt but it’s not endangering everything. As a matter of fact, there are economists that say some debt is not a bad idea at all.” So we have Barack Obama saying that we don't have a crisis and that even in ten years we will be in a sustainable place. Then we have John Conyers saying that our debt isn't endangering us a bit and that some debt is not a bad idea at all. Republican Rep. Paul Ryan has a credible plan to work toward that. He was absolutely right today in his speech to CPAC when he described our looming debt crisis as a “moral failure.” He says, "We have to tackle this problem before it tackles us.” He's absolutely right. If only Democrats could see that as well. |
Outrageous Statement of the Day Yesterday, our Campaigner-in-Chief met with House Democrats. The result of that meeting led to one of the most ridiculous comments I've heard in a long time. It's so ridiculous, that I don't even think that Nancy Pelosi believed it herself when she said it. Here's the set up: In reaction to Obama's dedication to help elect Democrats in 2014, Nancy Pelosi felt the need to clarify what this meant in the context of Obama's current Charm Offensive. That's when she came up with this gem, “I don’t think he’s ever done anything for political reasons. He didn’t want other people to attribute any political motivation to what he’s doing. This is a President who has been as bipartisan as any as I’ve ever seen.” You have got to be kidding me! This president has taken partisan political pandering to unprecedented levels. Pretty much everything this president has done has been for political reasons. To steal a great line from Paul Ryan earlier today, “The Vatican was not the only place blowing smoke this week.” Today's "Hot Topic" From the Hannity Forums Why No CPAC Love? - Posted by Apocalypto I'm surprised none of the cons around here are excited about CPAC. No updates, no commentary? What's the deal? Here's a little tidbit from my perspective. >>TV Tonight (9pm ET on Fox News) Republicans are digging deeper into this year's budget fraud. |
