It's been quite a week in Washington as lawmakers returned to the Hill with a variety of issues to tackle. Let's see where we stand as we head into the weekend. You absolutely have to check out my article on Hannity.com with great links and more data than you can imagine to prove just how crazy things are in Washington. Be sure to read it this weekend! I'd love to hear from you on the Hannity Forums! Gun Control Yesterday the Senate moved on a Motion to Proceed on the debate to brazenly limit your Second Amendment rights. The lapdog ObamaMania media has done its job on pushing the issue, using White House talking points in its coverage and giving people like Crazy Uncle Joe hours of air time on the issue. In the end, the legislation being debated is nothing but feel-good legislation; It wouldn't stop the horrible tragedies we've experienced in recent years, but would limit law-abiding citizens of their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Take a look at this video. Immigration The Gang of Eight Senators who are working to draft immigration legislation seemed to have finished their negotiations and are poised to unveil details of their plan early next week. While we are still awaiting the details, conservatives are hoping that the bill focuses on border security first, so that we don't continue to have second and third waves of this debate in the future. North Korea After weeks of provocation, Barack Obama spoke out on the issue yesterday stating that North Korea must end its “belligerent approach that they've been taking and to try to lower temperatures.” I still maintain that much of the world, including North Korea, doesn't take Obama seriously. The Budget This week we finally received Barack Obama's irresponsible budget. I call it irresponsible because it spends and taxes at unprecedented levels that are simply unsustainable for our nation. |
McConnell Recording Scandal The FBI now has “people of interest” in the audio recording scandal involving Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. It apparently was done by two people – Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison -- of the liberal Super PAC Progress Kentucky. Conway's motivation in speaking out was apparently to clear the name of the Democrat Party in Kentucky. I'll have continued coverage here! Here Comes Trouble Something very dangerous is happening in New York. Those of us who are gun owners can only have seven bullets according to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. A few months back, Cuomo admitted that he wanted firearm confiscation, he admitted that! Now, many States are starting to strengthen their gun ownership rights ahead of what they expect will be coming down from the Federal Government. What people don’t realize is that New York’s gun laws allow the state to access confidential medical records to determine if somebody is a threat. So our medical records are no longer private in New York? I know people who’ve taken medication for a period of time to help them get through a difficult emotional time like the death of a loved one. Does this mean they’re no longer eligible to own a gun? There’s a story coming out of New York where a man’s record was opened and his gun was confiscated without anybody reporting him to the authorities or ev en expressing concern over his mental state. Read this story because it’s a scary peek into what’s coming. >>TV Tonight (9pm ET on Fox) Sean has the latest on the immigration reform battles in Washington. |
