Congress returned to Washington this week. On the heels of a dismal jobs report and the news that a record number of Americans are now living in poverty, you would think that jobs and the economy would be top-of-mind. But you would be incorrect. Instead we will continue to focus on what some describe as Obama legacy issues: Gun control and immigration reform. Republicans who plan to stand up for our Second Amendment need to make sure that the American people understand that the Sandy Hook tragedy would not have been prevented with the gun control legislation being proposed. This is not about disrespecting the parents or the children of the tragedy, as Democrats and the Obama administration would have you believe. This is about our Constitution. While you, the hard-working American people, are shut out from the White House, celebrities and rock stars will be filing in tonight for a star-studded performance in the East Room. The Obama's lavish lifestyle continues tonight with a concert celebrating Memphis soul. The performers include Justin Timberlake, Cyndi Lauper, Al Green, Queen Latifah and many more. The guest list, last time I checked, was not going to be released by the White House. Wonder why. The “In Performance at the White House” is paid for by you, the taxpayers. | Senate Spy? Who did it? Who bugged Senator Mitch McConnell’s office? There is no direct evidence except to say that Mother Jones, a liberal newspaper, has posted audio where McConnell was planning an attack on actress Ashley Judd. This is something that every campaign does, it’s called opposition research! Republicans were having a meeting to deal with a potential opponent. Democrats don’t even need to meet, they simply make things up about Republicans throwing granny off the cliff. This will be very interesting as this story unfolds and it’ll be very interesting to see if they have any sense of fairness in this whole process. For more on this, check out Politico.com’s coverage.
