No, this is not an April Fools joke. The Anointed One has issued a Presidential Proclamation declaring April 2013 to be ... National Financial Capability Month! The proclamation reads, "Together, we can prepare young people to tackle financial challenges -- from learning how to budget responsibly to saving for college, starting a business, or opening a retirement account." It also states, "I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices." The hypocrisy of this proclamation is laughable. This is coming from a man who has added over $6 trillion to our national debt, and by the end of his second term will have added more to out national debt than all previous presidents combined. Perry, Cruz, Cornyn Join Forces On Medicaid Texas' top Republicans, Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, are teaming up to oppose expanding Medicaid services in their state. The three lawmakers joined Sean via the NewsMaker Hotline to discuss their efforts. Rick Perry says the program will "bankrupt" Texas. Cruz wants to repeal the entire health care law. Rather than accepting funding through Medicaid expansion, the group is asking the federal government for block grants. Cornyn said Texas, not the federal government, is best suited design Medicaid reform in Texas. "Texans know best how to care for Texans," Cruz said. The trio held a press conference and then hosted a round table discussion about Medicaid earlier today. For details, please click here. |
The Politics Of Easter While billions of Christians around the world celebrated Easter Sunday, the holiday did not pass in this country without political controversy. President Obama and his family attended an Easter service yesterday where the pastor took a jab at those on the religious right. During his sermon Dr. Luis Leon is reported as saying, "It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling people back ... for blacks to be back in the back of the bus, for women to be back in the kitchen, for gays to be in the closet and for immigrants to be on their side of the border." I suppose politics cannot be set aside on even our most sacred of Holy days. Today's "Hot Topic" From the Hannity Forums: Ben Bernanke, the man who would destroy the US economy - Posted by fava As kids, we often made fun of, and at times mocked the old man who yelled "get off my lawn." What political topics or moments in history, have you found yourself becoming that old man by yelling (real or metaphorically) "get off my lawn...." ? >>TV Tonight (9pm ET on Fox News) He's challenging Obama's policies and fighting for real change in America! Dr. Benjamin Carson joins Sean on a special 'Hannity'! |
