Holder Off The Record
Something very interesting has been unfolding over the last day or so. It has to do with Eric Holder's request to meet off-the-record with journalists to discuss the Justice Department's handling of leaks to the media. The key phrase is "off-the-record." It's almost laughable that Holder would make such a request, considering the nature of what he wants to discuss. I'm not the only one to view this off the record request incredulously: Fox News, CNN, the New York Times, the Associated Press and the Huffington Post have all denied Holder's request to meet, so long as the "off-the-record' demand remains. Meanwhile, the Washington Post and the Politico will be attending the meeting. Why? I've had a difficult time figuring that one out. Outrageous: ObamaCare Opponents Racist?
Louisiana State Sen. Karen Carter Peterson, the chair of the state Democratic Party, caused quite a stir when she took to the floor of the State Senate and declared that the reason people oppose ObamaCare is because Barack Obama is black. Isn't the race argument getting old by now? There are about 1,000 reasons to opposed ObamaCare and absolutely none of them have to do with the race of the president. IRS "Kerfuffle" Updates
I have a collection of stories related to the IRS scandal involving the targeting of conservative groups. As I told you earlier in the week, Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ has filed a lawsuit on behalf of at least 25 groups against the IRS. Apparently groups are still receiving probing inquiries as recently as just three weeks ago! In other words, the IRS was inaccurate in declaring that practice of targeting conservatives to be over. We also know now that the targeting was widespread and went into high levels of the IRS. Here are a few other stories related to the scandal .. I'm sorry, wait .. according to Chris Matthews, we are no longer to refer to this IRS story or Benghazi or leak investigations as "scandals." We will henceforth downplay them as mere "kerfuffles." Superbowl anti-gun ad, hope it backfires on them

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 11 Hours Ago Bloomberg to Air Gun Control Ad During Superbowl Feb 2, 2013Toro520 Via The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks. The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
