'Stunningly, Breathtakingly Naive': Newt Gingrich REALLY Didn't Like Obama's Terror Policy Speech

President Obama in a major speech delivered on Thursday addressed his administration's ongoing efforts to fight the terrorism around the globe.

And while Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was been critical of the president's remarks regarding the use of unmanned drones, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich outright dismissed the entire speech as little more than an ode to naivety.

"[Obama] says at one point, 'Wars have to end,'" Gingrich said Sunday morning on CNN's State of the Union with Candy Crowley. "Well, Trotsky said, 'You may not care about war, but war cares about you,'" the former Speaker said.

He characterized the speech as "stunningly, breathtakingly naive."

"Right after you have somebody beheaded in London," he added, "you have a bomb go off in Boston, you have the Iranians as you were just told by Congressman McCaul every day trying to penetrate our system with cyber, you have an Iranian nuclear program underway—and the President announces cheerfully, 'The war's going to end because I'm not happy being a war president.'"

"No one wants to talk honestly about the fact that there is a radical Islamism on offense"

Gingrich went on to criticize the Obama administration for ignoring the threat that radical Islam poses to civilized society.

"No one wants to talk honestly about the fact that there is a radical Islamism on offense," Gingrich said. "It is on offense across the planet…We will never be at peace in the pre-1941 sense that we are not threatened and that we don't have to actively take measures all the time."

Superbowl anti-gun ad, hope it backfires on them

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 11 Hours Ago Bloomberg to Air Gun Control Ad During Superbowl Feb 2, 2013Toro520 Via The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks. The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
