True the Vote: IRS Demanded Record of Every Meeting Since Inception
The questions, and ones like it sent to other Tea Party or conservative groups, have received high levels of attention after it was revealed that the IRS intentionally targetedconservative groups prior to the 2012 presidential election. True the Vote has alsoaccused the Department of Justice (DOJ) of scrutinizing their organization.
The questions from the IRS were far-reaching and intrusive, and some members of Congress have called for criminal investigations into those individuals in the IRS who participated in the abuse of power.
The questions range from the mundane to the IRS requiring knowledge of the identity of each and every volunteer True the Vote has worked with. The IRS also demanded all minutes or notes from any meeting the organization ever held.
