Another business to ignore
Conservatives need to be intelligent shoppers. Not only do we need to find the best deals to make our dollars go further, we also need to use our marketplace power to make sure that companies that fight against conservatism and our rights do not receive the benefits of our patronage.
There is one big store we should ignore right now. This is one store that conservatives should not shop at.
What is that store and why should we not shop there?
The store is Staples office supplies.
Yes, that big red, office supply big box store that is pretty ubiquitous.
Why should conservatives not shop there?
From Fox News:
A small Nebraska gun shop has decided to buy its ink pens and post-it notes somewhere else after they said Staples rejected their entry into a marketing contest because they are in the firearms business.
Travis Vonseggern and Bill Jackson own Maple Creek Gunsmithing in Fremont, Neb. The store offers gunsmithing, guns, ammo, and firearms training.
They recently entered the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest – hoping to win a $50,000 marketing campaign for their small business. But a few days later, the men received a rejection email:
"We're sorry, but your small business entry into the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest has been rejected for the following reason(s): Entry contains content that promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message; is obscene or offensive; or endorses any form of hate or hate group."
The email also stated that Staples "reserves the right to reject any entry that they deem is not in accordance with the official rules."
Let's see, Staples says gun shops are the equivalent of hate groups. It says shops that support a right specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights is on par with drug dealers or obscenity.
Staples reaction is obscene.
Spending money at Staples is obscene.
The left has been trying to demonize both guns, gun owners and businesses that support gun ownership. In 1995, Eric Holder said it himself that the left must "brainwash" Americans about guns.
The demonization of guns, gun owners and gun shops has gone too far.
If Staples wants to make war on Real Americans then Real Americans can make war on Staples. Time to head down the road to Office Depot or OfficeMax.
Staples can head to the dustbin of history.
