| June 19, 2013 Dear Hoax: My friend and colleague, Rich Lowry, has a new and powerful book on Abraham Lincoln – one that you must definitely own.
And the prestigious Kirkus Reviews had this to say about Rich and his reflections on Honest Abe: "a quick, smoothly readable account of Lincoln the political striver, the embodiment of the Declaration's 'central idea . . . that every man can make himself.'" Want more on Rich and POTUS XVI? Visit www.lincolnunbound.com, where you can also order the book. Last week was a busy one for NR's Editor, as he hit the air waves discussing his new classic. Newsmax TV's Kathleen Walter hosted Rich for an excellent interview; our FNC "The Five" pal Dana Perino praised Lincoln Unbound; Larry Kudlow had Rich on his CNBC show to discuss the Rail Splitter; and even "Morning Joe" was the setting for Rich to explain how Abe is the role model for the modern GOP. Oh yeah: John Miller interviewed Rich on NRO's "Between the Covers." And: Here's Rich's cover story from National Review, which makes "The Case Against the Critics of Our 16th President." It's a must for you and your family, and makes the perfect gift. Order Lincoln Unbound: How an Ambitious Young Railsplitter Saved the American Dream—and How We Can Do It Again here. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks.
