Lindsey Graham confident he has the votes to pass immigration reform, destroy the GOP

This weekend, everyone's favorite non-Republican, Lindsey Graham, was enjoying plenty of face time on the Sunday morning shows. The blitz was designed to promote his belief that passage of the "Gang of Eight" immigration reform package is the only thing that can save the GOP from what he calls a "demographic death spiral."

"If we don't pass immigration reform, if we don't get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn't matter who we run in 2016," Graham claims. "We're in a demographic death spiral as a party."

Fortunately for the Grand Old Party, Lindsey is pretty sure that Grahamnesty is going to pass.

Graham predicts a "political breakthrough" that will lead to the bill's passage with "plus 70 votes."  In fact, he says, "I've never been more optimistic about it."

So let's get this straight…  Graham, in his infinite wisdom, has decided that the GOP has a major Demographic problem and his fix is to grant legal status to 11 Million new citizens who even Dems admit will overwhelmingly support Democrat candidates?

This is a little like burning down your house because it's the quickest way to fix your flooded basement.  It's also the kind of circular logic that could only creep from the addled minds of the Graham/McCain alliance.

At this point, we're left with two choices. Either Graham can't grasp the fact that his "demographic death spiral" will be largely offset by a massive influx of newly minted left-wing voters, or he simply doesn't care. Either way, if the "Gang of Eight" bill passes, the result will be the same.
