Phony Scandals, False Crisis
Every weekend, the Obama administration picks someone to go on the Sunday talk shows and spin the narrative. Some people are better at this than others – remember Dan Pfeiffer's “the law is irrelevant” fiasco a few months ago? This weekend, the chosen propagandist was none other than Treasury Secretary Jack Lew. His appearances made headlines for a few reasons. Lew told George Stephanopoulos that Republicans should avoid “false crisis” in reference to the upcoming budget battle. Notice that anything the Republicans try to do is being painted by this administration as “phony” or “false.” That must mean that it is the Democrats who are focused on the real issues, right? Well there is nothing fake about the negative impact Obama Care is already having on our economy and will have once it is fully implemented. This is what Lew is referring to as a “false crisis” – The Republicans using the power of the purse to stop Obama Care, yet fund the rest of the government. It is possible that the Democrats' insistence on funding Obama Care could lead to a government shutdown. Make no mistake – We didn't have to be in this position of continuing resolutio ns, but when was the last time the Democrat-led Senate even passed a budget? Yeah, I didn't think so … so it is because of the Democrats that we are stuck with these re-occurring continuing resolutions. Republicans are playing the game by the cards with which they were dealt. The long-term impact of Obama Care won't be fake to millions who lose their current health insurance, lose their jobs or their hours, and to individuals and businesses trying to make ends meet.

Double Down on “Phony Scandals”

This weekend, Jack Lew and Barack Obama doubled down on their insistence that the IRS scandal is phony. Lew himself used the word “phony” several times, and he insisted that the GOP is continuing to try and find evidence that isn't there. I'm not sure that Lew can claim the evidence isn't there when we just established the fact that Wilkins hasn't even been asked about it! Then we had Barack Obama over the weekend in his weekly address: “Reversing these trends must be Washington’s highest priority. It sure is mine. But over the past couple of years in particular, Washington has taken its eye off the ball. An endless parade of distractions, political posturing and phony scandals shift focus from what needs to be done.” You mean like when the president took his eye off the economic ball and decided to focus on healthcare, gay marriage, immigration, gun control, climate change, Trayvon Martin, sequestration? It's kind of hard to take Obama seriously when he's the one complaining about an endless parade of distractions. That's all this administration has been: A bunch of liberal distractions. Meanwhile our economy suffers because he simply doesn't know how to grow it, but he sure does know how to blame it on others!
Hillary, The Mini-Series
Has the Hollywood-media love affair with Barack Obama faded? I suppose that declining poll numbers combined with a lack of a future campaign makes Obama far less attractive to those seeking to cozy up to power. Therefore the focus is already shifting … to Hillary Clinton. NBC announced over the weekend that it is producing a miniseries on Hillary Clinton to air sometime before the 2016 election. It will be four hours long and star Diane Lane. An NBC executive promises that the miniseries will be “even-handed in terms of criticism and praise when it comes to dealing with Clinton and her work.” Easier said than done, especially when the screenwriter is known to be an admirer of Hillary's. When should I expect NBC to announce their miniseries about Marco Rubio or Chris Christie or other potential presidential candidates? I won't hold my breath. Hollywood has anointed its next ruler. Any critical note in this miniseries (or in the movie on Hillary set to come out in 2016) will be carefully crafted to give the impression of impartiality, but it will only be the parts which they want you to see. The media saw the full force of its power come to fruition when it got Barack Obama elected to office. You can bet that it seeks to do that again with Hillary. The campaign has already begun. By the way, Hillary was at the White House today to have a private lunch with Barack Obama. Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall for THAT meeting?

Superbowl anti-gun ad, hope it backfires on them

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 11 Hours Ago Bloomberg to Air Gun Control Ad During Superbowl Feb 2, 2013Toro520 Via The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks. The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
