Conservatives oppose Harry Reid just because he's white
Harry Reid sets out to cast his net of slander once again:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on Friday that he hopes Republicans are opposing President Barack Obama based on substance and not based on his race.
"It has been obvious that they're doing everything they can to make him fail. I hope that…that's based on substance, not the fact that he's African American," he told Nevada Public Radio, KNPR.
Oh, gee, I hope Harry Reid didn't enrich his family with land deals.
Of course, this isn't just about Reid or his habit of spreading demonstrably false and defamatory rumors about people he doesn't agree with. This is about America's political conversation. It has devolved now into a bunch of white liberals using Obama's race as an excuse for his record. All dissent was once patriotic. All dissent is now racist.
You know who hasn't used racism to deflect criticism from Obama? Obama hasn't. At least give him credit for that — a lot more credit than Harry "no Negro dialect" Reid deserves.
