'Duck Dynasty' Star a Victim of New York Hotel's Intolerant Facial Profiling

Redneck millionaire and Duck Dynasty star Jase Robertson got kicked out of a swank New York City hotel because of his beard. The staff mistook him for a homeless man.

Appearing along with his family on "Live with Kelly and Michael" Wednesday morning, Jase Robertson described the incident.

"The first thing that happened to me at the hotel was I got escorted out," Robertson said, joking that it was a "facial-profiling deal."

Robertson said that the hotel employee simply didn't know who he was.

"I asked where the bathroom was and he said, 'Right this way, sir.' He was very nice," Robertson explained. "He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, 'Good luck.'"

Robertson walked back in, continued to stay at the hotel, and made a joke out of the whole thing.

The hotel man can be forgiven for not knowing who Jase is. It's not like his show is smashing ratings records or anything. Wait –

If you ask someone what they were doing last night, chances are the answer is: "watching Duck Dynasty." Because based on the astounding ratings it drew, everyone was tuning in to catch up with the Robertson family.

A&E's reality hit brought in 11.8 million viewers for the season-four premiere, making it cable's most-watched nonfiction telecast to date. That's over 2 million more viewers than the season-three finale, which nabbed 9.6 million viewers and at the time set a ratings record for the network.

So he's a star on the highest rated cable show ever, gets run out of a hotel, and takes it all in stride. Heck, he probably wishes they'd had a camera crew on him to put in an episode down the road, because it would be hilarious. The Robertsons don't take themselves too seriously, which is one of the reasons the show is the best show on TV right now.

Contrast this incident with Oprah, who made a big deal out of literally nothing at a Swiss purse shop and even got TMZ on her back for being a pretentious ninny.

Senators now have two days to read and digest it before a Wednesday vote. Sen.
