Magazine, Operators Manual, Lifetime Transferable Warranty FROM THE GUNSMITH'S BENCH  Erik Winter, Gunsmith TOPIC: Installation of MFT E-VolV 2.2" Picatinny Rail    The Mission First Tactical EVolV 2.2" rail allows you to attach a forward pistol grip, flash light - or any other item that mounts to a Picatinny rail - to your stock carbine hand guards very easily. See it on our website at:   http://www.windhamweaponry.com/shopexd.asp?id=243&bc=no   First make sure weapon is unloaded!   Then remove upper receiver from lower receiver. Remove handguards by following the instructions on Page 23 in your Owners Manual.   Remove screws from the MFT Rail Segment and note that one end of the rail is thicker than the other. The thickest end of the rail will go towards the front of the handguard. This difference in thickness positions the rail so its mounting surface is parallel with the bore. With a set of needlenose pliers, remove the inner heat shield. Line the mounting screw holes up with two vent holes at the desired position in the handguard - them install the mounting screws. Snap the inner heat shield in, and the mounted Rail Segment should look like this. You can mount the rail further back if you so choose. CUSTOMER SERVICE CORNER         Cheryl Eliason, Customer Service Manager   We receive a variety of customer service related questions from our customers, and in order to better serve all of you, highlight one question each month.   This month's question is:   What does the stamping on my Windham barrel mean ?   Answer:   All Windham Weaponry barrels are stamped with our WW marking, caliber and barrel twist rate on the top of the barrel.  FROM THE EDITOR Karen Fogarty, Asst. to VP of Sales & Marketing             CUSTOMER FEEDBACK As you know, we love seeing our readers and their WW rifles.  We were tickled pink to receive an email from Joe Soistman, who shared the picture below of his father, Harry Soistman of High Springs, FL, shooting Joe's WW, as well as a picture of him during his service in WWII.  I had the pleasure of speaking with Joe, and it is apparent that Harry is a remarkable man, donating rare WWII pictures to the Holocaust Museum in Naples, Florida, where he is featured along with his pictures.   Father's  Day 2013. My Dad is 91 years old. He is a WWII combat veteran, platoon sergeant, European  theater.  He saw a lot of action in General Patton's Army.  He loved firing my Windham Weaponry rifle. It was a day that neither he, nor my son, nor I, will ever forget. By the way, he laid  down 3 inch groupings of 5 to 10 shots, at 75 yards, from the standing position. I am attaching a pic of him during WWII, in Europe. I really enjoy shooting mine and thought I would share a couple of pictures. It's nothing fancy, but it is built for my shooting needs. I went with the OD Green Magpul pieces as they look really smooth on this rifle. I carefully inspected both models and the Windham Weaponry AR-15 just seemed to be made better by feel. At close inspection, close attention to detail had been paid. To date (before my hand surgery) I've fired several hundred rounds through it with different kinds of magazines and it hasn't jammed even once! It's a very reliable weapon. I AM VERY PLEASED! Being new to this type of rifle, I exchanged my iron sights for the scope you see. I like it, but I'm going to be ordering a new set of iron sights to put back on it. I own a lot of weapons and I'm blown away at the craftsmanship that went into this weapon.
