Poll: Support for More Gun Control Laws At Lowest Point Since Newtown Shooting
According to a Rasmussen Poll released this week, support for new gun control measures is at a low point since it reached one of its highest points following the Newtown shooting in Connecticut.
According to the poll, 46% of Americans oppose any new gun laws and 46% support enacting new gun laws.
The support for additional gun control is down from a high of 52% earlier this year.
Most people polled agreed that current gun laws needed better enforcement.
The survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on August 4-5, 2013 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
The questions was worded as follows,
1* Does the United States need stricter gun control laws?
The poll results go along with other national polls showing support and enthusiasm for stricter gun control is steadily falling back to pre-Newtown levels.
