Legendary Rock Star Eviscerates Media in Powerful Defense of Tim Tebow: 'They're A**holes'
Gene Simmons, the legendary rock star and frontman of KISS, came to Tim Tebow's defense, saying the press has treated him unfairly because of his religious beliefs.

"He's got a religious passion, as well he should, we're in America," Simmons told Radio.com this week. "He's proud to be a Christian, what's wrong with that? And yet, with sports media and pop culture media, they make fun of his religion. Really? In America? If he was wearing a burqa, they wouldn't dare say anything. But if you're a Christian, you get to be picked on? What the hell?"
He continued on his pro-Tebow rant: "The guy's got family values. I never saw the media picking on Michael Vick for torturing dogs. Or this other football player, who's alleged to have killed, committed murder. That's 'cool.' But a guy who's religious and has got family values isn't 'cool?' He's cool to me."
Simmons and KISS bandmate Paul Stanley are co-owners of a new Arena Football League team, which will be appropriately named LA KISS, Radio.com notes.
Accordingly, the rock star happily extended an offer to join the expansion team, where he will get the respect he "didn't get at the NFL." Simmons said he hasn't heard back from Tebow yet, but claimed the quarterback is "considering this seriously."
After bouncing around the league during the first few years of his career, Tebow was released by the New England Patriots a few weeks ago.

However, the KISS frontman wasn't done taking the media to task just yet.
"They're a**holes," he said. "And they should be called to task, and they should lose their license, because in a very real way, as far as I'm concerned, it's slander and defamation. You're making fun of somebody's religion."
Simmons went on to say that "religion is good for mankind," referencing the importance of the Ten Commandments in society.
As for his "day job," Radio.com explains, "Simmons says there will be a North American tour celebrating KISS's 40th anniversary."
