BREAKING: Impeachment Against Eric Holder to Be Introduced Tomorrow

BREAKING: Impeachment Against Eric Holder to Be Introduced Tomorrow

Earlier this week, we talked about Eric Holder being impeached. The first stages of the impeachment process against Eric Holder are now underway. Whether the process reaches full maturity and ends with Holder's actual impeachment remains largely a question of whether the Republican establishment will stop it.

For now, 11 House Republicans, including Michele Bachmann and 5 congressmen from Texas, have released a "white paper" outlining their articles of impeachment against Eric Holder.

The formal charges will be released tomorrow, according to Roll Call. They focus on Eric Holder's criminal and unconstitutional violations of the rights of the American people, as well as corruption as it relates to Fast & Furious. Things are finally moving along.

Roll Call reports:

A rump group of House Republicans are tired of waiting for answers from Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. — they want him impeached and will formally introduce their charges Thursday.

As Roll Call previously reported, a small group of GOP lawmakers have been drafting articles of impeachment for Holder over a string of controversies, including a Department of Justice refusal to turn over documents related to Operation Fast and Furious, a refusal to uphold certain laws — namely the Defense of Marriage Act, the Controlled Substances Act and the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 — and a refusal to prosecute IRS officials who accessed tax records of political donors and candidates without authorization. The articles of impeachment also charge that Holder provided false testimony to Congress — a "clear violation" of law.

Texas Republican Pete Olson, who is leading the charge behind the Holder articles of impeachment, said this wasn't a decision he took lightly.

"Since the House voted in 2012 to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, the pattern of disregard for the rule of law and refusal to be forthright has continued," Olson said in a statement to CQ Roll Call. "The American people deserve answers and accountability. If the Attorney General refuses to provide answers, then Congress must take action."

Olson told CQ Roll Call that he would be dropping the articles of impeachment Thursday. On Wednesday, he released a five-page white paper explaining the four articles of impeachment against Holder.

To read more of the articles that will be introduced, read this. The actual details are still a little grey, but most of the questions should be answered by tomorrow when the charges are finally introduced.

Rep. Ted Yoho from Florida said last week:

"It's time to get him out of office – impeachment. It will probably be when we get back in [Washington]. It will be before the end of the year. This will go to the speaker and the speaker will decide if it comes up or not."

Here's the video:

The most important thing possible at this point is for House Republicans to feel pressure to actually make this happen, rather than sit on it and force the process to go nowhere. That means we need grassroots activism.

Over the last century, the American people mostly have been in the dark about the corruption of our leaders. The age of the Internet has changed everything. Now we see what's happening — and are able to get organized.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter and contact your representative. Let them know that you strongly support the impeachment against Eric Holder.

He must be removed from his abusive position.

Superbowl anti-gun ad, hope it backfires on them

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 11 Hours Ago Bloomberg to Air Gun Control Ad During Superbowl Feb 2, 2013Toro520 Via The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks. The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
