Changes to Oklahoma gun laws goes into effect Friday
OKLAHOMA CITY – A pair of bills that deal with judges, private investigators and firearms go into effect Friday.
House Bill 1413 allows licensed private investigators to openly carry a firearm on and off the job.
However, those private investigators must have a concealed carry permit in order to openly carry a firearm.
Also going into effect Friday is House Bill 1242, which allows a district judge to carry a firearm anywhere in the state for personal protection.
However, the judge must have completed a firearm training course.
The bill covers district judges, municipal judges and retired district judges who have the appropriate retirement papers.
