FOUNDER'S QUOTE DAILY

"The only foundation of a free Constitution, is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People, in a great Measure, than they have it now. They may change their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty." --John Adams, letter to Zabdiel Adams, 1776

TODAY'S 'TOP TEN' FROM RIGHT HOOK

O'Care and Cars

National Review's Jonah Goldberg offers this analogy for ObamaCare: "Say I like my current car. The government says under some new policy I will be able to keep it and maybe even lower my car payments. But once the policy is imposed, I'm told my car now isn't street-legal. Worse, I will have to buy a much more expensive car or be fined by the IRS. But, hey, it'll be a much better car! Why, even though you live in Death Valley, your new car will have great snow tires and heated seats. This is what the government is saying to millions of Americans who don't want or need certain coverage, including, for instance, older women -- and men -- who are being forced to pay for maternity care. Such overcharging is necessary to pay for the poor and the sick signing up for Obamacare or for the newly expanded Medicaid."

He Just Can't Shut Up

Barack Obama doubled down on his false assertion that Americans could keep their insurance and doctors, "period" -- a remark even the Washington Post classified as a "WHOPPER." He claimed again this week, "If you had one of these substandard plans before the Affordable Care Act became law and you really liked that plan, you're able to keep it. That's what I said when I was running for office. That was part of the promise we made." Analysts now believe that more than 90 million plans are at risk of alteration or cancelation, both individual and corporate policies, and that this information was known to the administration in 2010. The lie just keeps getting bigger. Sometimes if you tell a lie often enough, it just becomes a bigger lie.

Just Redefine It!

Still attempting to cover his "keep your insurance" fabrication, Barack Obama is trying another tactic -- change the definition of "insurance." Obama claims, "[E]ver since the law was passed, if insurers decided to downgrade or cancel these substandard plans, what we said under the law is you've got to replace them with quality, comprehensive coverage…" Well, no, what you said was that if people like their insurance and doctors, they could keep them, "period." So attempting to qualify a difference between "insurance" and "substandard plans" is nothing more than a subterfuge! And for the record, this is not about insurers "deciding to cancel" your insurance. It is about ObamaCare mandates that force those companies to cancel plans because they do not comply with Obama's standards. And yes, Obama knew in 2010 that tens of millions of Americans would have their plans cancelled.

Top Hospitals Terminate O'Care

You can't keep your health plan, you can't keep your doctor and now many hospitals are slamming the door on O'Care altogether. According to Watchdog.org, "[R]esponding to Obamacare caps on premiums, many insurers will, in turn, simply offer top-tier doctors and hospitals far less cash for services rendered." After contacting all 18 of the nation's top hospitals and various insurers, they determined that "Many top hospitals are simply opting out of Obamacare." In retrospect, "Chances are the individual plan you purchased outside Obamacare would allow you to go to these facilities." As Breitbart's John Nolte observes, "When Democrats talked about 'Two America[s],' I was under the mistaken impression they were speaking out in opposition to such a thing."

Lerner Leaked Secret Info

More emails reveal that the IRS gave confidential Tea Party tax information upon request to the Federal Election Commission. And -- brace yourselves -- you'll never guess who allegedly approved the leak. According to Washington Times reporter Paul Bedard, "The public watchdog group Judicial Watch [says] … it was former scandal boss Lois Lerner who shared the information on groups including the American Future Fund and the American Issues Project." Additionally, "The emails also revealed the exact working of the prying political questions the IRS wanted the groups to reveal, such as their goals and the requests for brochures and ads." But despite breaking federal law, Congress is undoubtedly in no hurry to get to to the bottom of this scandal, either.

More Redistributed Than Earned

According to the latest census data, more Americans now depend on government support than earned income. As of 2012, 151 million Americans receive government support, while 125 million earn a paycheck. Of course, there are some 50 million who receive earned support in the form of Social Security, Medicare and Veteran benefits. So as it stands now, 100 million Americans depend on the government for subsistence. Some 82 million receive Medicaid welfare (and that number is going up as a result of O'Care), 35 million receive food and shelter subsidies, and 5 million receive unemployment checks.

SIX Enrolled on First Day

No wonder the administration is keeping the O'Care enrollment numbers a secret. According to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services documents obtained by the House Oversight Committee, a mere 6 individuals successfully enrolled within 24 hours of Healthcare.gov's launch. That's no typo. By the end of the following day, a total of 248 people had managed to sign up. Officials have thus far only mentioned that millions of folks had visited the website, but no wonder they have refused to disclose any official data -- they need to find a way to spin the numbers first. As CBS News notes, "The health care exchanges need to average 39,000 enrollees a day to meet the goal of seven million by March 1."

Speaking of Data FAILs...

While O'Care has cost hospitals and physicians billions of dollars to digitize their entire stock of patient records, it turns out the mandate was simply too complicated for the Defense Department and the Veterans Administration, which abandoned their efforts to do so earlier this year.

Mike Rogers' Memo to Sebelius

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a former FBI agent specializing in electronic security issues, chastised HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius and by extension, Obama, for the lack of security at Healthcare.gov: "You allowed this system to go forward with no encryption on backup systems. They have no encryption on certain boundary crossings. You accepted a risk on behalf of every user [and] put their personal financial information at risk because you did not have even the most basic end to end test on security of this system." As The Patriot noted months ago, one of the liabilities that will plague Democrats who supported O'Care is the fact that it will be an easy mark for ID theft.

O'Care Voter Registration Fraud

Not only is O'Care the largest income redistribution scheme in history, but it is also registering voters to support that redistribution. Endeavoring to expand the rolls of those who support socialist government policies, O'Care is proving to be the biggest voter registration fraud scheme in our country's history. The Medicaid sign-up portal is not only signing folks up for subsidized health care, but to vote! Under current federal law ("Motor Voter"), when someone goes to the DMV for a driver's license, he or she is asked whether or not they want to register to vote. Under the O'Care application process, if you apply for Medicaid, you are automatically registered to vote unless you opt out (by completing a form designed to unduly complicate the process).

Senators now have two days to read and digest it before a Wednesday vote. Sen.
