Stand Your Ground Against Gun Grabbers

counterculturedusa.com - by Gabriella Hoffman Gun grabbers masquerading as crusaders for "sensible gun safety" are relentless in their efforts to undermine the Second Amendment. Since the gun control movement is losing stream, they are seeking ways to remain relevant. Recently, former New York City mayor and notorious nanny statist Michael Bloomberg pledged $50 million to defeat the National Rifle Association (NRA) this November under a new organization called "Everytown for Gun Safety." In an April 15th interview with the New York Times, Bloomberg said he has a place in heaven for his efforts to disarm Americans: "I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I'm not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It's not even close." "When I signed on as an adviser to Everytown, I looked forward to a thoughtful and provocative discussion about the toll gun violence takes on Americans," Mr. Ridge said. "After consultation with Everytown, I have decided that I am uncomfortable with their expected electoral work." How do we best combat these hypocrites who want to force more government control on us? First, arm yourselves with facts. We can't allow the Left to speak for gun safety and knowledge. As I wrote in my January 2013 Counter Cultured article, it's important to debunk what an "assault weapon" is:

Additionally, gun control advocates are blatantly ignorant about basic gun operation and design. Please don't lecture us on safety if you can't point out a magazine, think an AR-15 is an assault firearm, or think a gun operates on its own.

Second, we must use facts against gun grabbers, particularly studies, that show that more guns lead to less crime. A Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy report concluded that the presence of more guns leads to less crime. That same study also found that societies that disarmed their citizens–specifically the Soviet Union—witnessed more murder rates than gun-toting America. The study says:
Yet, manifest success in keeping its people disarmed did not prevent the Soviet Union from having far and away the highest murder rate in the developed world. In the 1960s and early 1970s, the gun-less Soviet Union's murder rates paralleled or generally exceeded those of gun ‐ ridden America. While American rates stabilized and then steeply however, Russian murder increased so drastically. That by the early 1990s the Russian rate Russian rate was three times higher than that of the United States. Between 1998-2004 (the latest figure available for Russia), murder rates were nearly four times higher than American rates.

Senators now have two days to read and digest it before a Wednesday vote. Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), the lead GOP negotiator, said the bill contains all the most vital reforms Republicans have demanded and called it a "once-in-a-generation opportunity to close our open border." "The bill provides funding to build the wall, increase technology at the border, and add more detention beds, more agents, and more deportation flights. The border security bil
