 "Officer, I have a handgun in the glovebox; how do you want me to get my registration that is stored there?" This is not the time to say, as has happened to me, "I've got a gun!" That driver found out that I too was carrying that fine day, and they weren't too happy to be shown what my handgun looked like.

The answer depends on the local and state laws where you live, but I think that most situations merely call for a little common sense.
