Patriot Brothers and Sisters, Among the hundreds of thousands of grassroots Patriots we serve, I receive a few objections about asking support for your Patriot Post Team. Predictably, these occasional complaints come from those who benefit from our frontline defense of Liberty, but have never supported our mission and operations budget. Don't get me wrong, there are many among our ranks from whom we ask no support -- particularly those in the military, high school and college students, those in the mission fields and others with limited resources. We are humbled to serve them! But when I received a protest asserting that our Team is composed of "overpaid and underworked Beltway book heads," that caused me some heartburn. So let's set the record straight. First, your management team is composed of well-educated and well-informed Patriots who are most assuredly not overpaid, underworked or Beltway book heads. We are primarily located in the foothills of Tennessee and Georgia, though our key editors are spread coast to coast. We have some right-minded readers in the nation's capital, but not a single member of our team lives in that Beltway swamp -- thus, none are infected with Potomac Fever! Second, there are no big salaries and fringe benefits around here. Our budget is lean and mean, and if not for all the volunteer editing and staffing support we receive, our revenue requirement would be five times what it is today. Our team is motivated by mission, certainly not high wages -- though most do have young families to support. Third, The Patriot Post is not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization, nor do we accept any third-party online or e-mail advertising. Our mission and operations budgets are funded by -- and depend entirely upon -- the voluntary financial support of American Patriots across the country. The bottom line is this: We are a mission-driven service organization. Our staff works long hours for modest compensation, our facilities are simple, and our fixed operating expenses are as tight as possible. But Internet publishing is expensive: It requires sophisticated hardware, custom software, installations and offices. We also have substantial legal, accounting and insurance costs. Because our budget is a tiny fraction of other influential conservative organizations, your investment in The Patriot Post provides a big return. There is one day left to raise the remaining $134,698 needed to make budget. Please support The Patriot Post today.
