The industrial sector is leading U.S. equities deep in negative territory after a bigger-than-expected drop in September manufacturing activity. As of 12:10 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 171 points, or 1.0%. The S&P 500 was down 13 points, or 0.69%, while the Nasdaq dropped 35 points, of 1.24%. Fears surrounding looming Federal Reserve rate hikes, and a stronger dollar's impact on earnings are also adding fuel to the selloff.
