202-225-0600Bipartisan Bill Helping Disabled Heads to President's Desk
WASHINGTON, DC - House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement after the Senate passed H.R. 647, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, which allows individuals with disabilities to set up tax-free savings accounts for qualified expenses:
"This important bill marks the biggest step forward in 25 years toward helping millions of Americans with disabilities build stronger lives and secure a better future. This would not have been possible without those who have devoted so much to this effort, including Representatives Ander Crenshaw, Pete Sessions, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers. I look forward to the President signing this bill into law."
NOTE: Representatives Crenshaw, Sessions, and McMorris Rodgers recently delivered the weekly GOP address on the ABLE Act and how it will give Americans with disabilities the opportunity to have a better life.
