House Approves Bill to Prevent Tax Hike on Americans
WASHINGTON, DC - House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after the House passed the Tax Increase Prevention Act:
"Today the House acted to prevent tax hikes on small businesses, manufacturers, and hardworking Americans across the country. I am disappointed the White House blocked a bipartisan, permanent solution that would have given businesses and their employees the certainty they need to grow and hire. However, I am hopeful today's bill will help lay the groundwork for the House and Senate to continue their work to fix our broken tax code through tax reform, which will encourage robust economic growth and create more American jobs. I appreciate the hard work and leadership of Chairman Camp on this and other critical issues during his tenure at the committee."
