A 17-year-old girl was outside her home getting something from her car when she was approached by two men wearing masks. They forced her inside the home at gunpoint. The teen's father saw the assailants with his daughter and retrieved a firearm. He then fired several shots. The teen's mother also retrieved a firearm and fired. Both men were struck. One of the home invaders collapsed on the living room floor and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect returned fire before fleeing the home. He was later arrested after being treated for gunshot wounds to the chest and both thighs. He now faces charges of second-degree murder, kidnapping, burglary and armed criminal action.
