God Bless Texas Liberals who are perfectly fine dropping a crucifix in a jar of urine and calling it art are appalled that Pamela Gellar would hold a "draw Mohammed" contest in Texas. "She's just asking for trouble," they proclaimed. In fact, trouble did show up yesterday to try to kill and maim, but the only bodies without pulses were the Islamic radicals who tried to blow up the event. This is, after all, Texas. A security guard was shot and subsequently released from the hospital. The jihadis got a one way ticket to hell. At the Pamela Gellar organized event near Dallas last evening, Islamic radicals tried to kill people who turned out for the free speech rally, which the press called an "anti-Islam" rally. Liberals who gave all sorts of awards to the play "The Book of Mormon" were quick to denounce Pamela Gellar's event as an unnecessary provocation against Islam. Some went so far as to suggest the organizers got what they deserved — or would have, except this is Texas and the only people killed were the Islamic radicals. It is also worth noting that the media went out of its way to avoid naming the jihadis or even noting that they were Islamic radicals. The public, however, quickly learned the identities thanks to a merry band of ISIS supporters cheering on the attack and purportedly retweeting from the accounts of one of the attackers. Read More

Conservatives Must Oppose Bob Corker's Capitulation Bob Corker is a little man who chairs the impotent Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The two traits have conspired to require him to feel relevant and stretch his little legs. Back when Republicans were debating how to allow President Obama to raise the debt ceiling without the GOP being blamed, they came up with a novel solution. They'd allow the debt ceiling to be raised, but allow votes of disapproval that President Obama could veto. That allowed them to set a 2/3 vote in order to block the increase by overriding President Obama's veto. That is the genesis of Bob Corker's constitutional abdication done because he feels compelled to feel needed in the process. The Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to ratify any treaty of the United States. Turning that on its head, no doubt so it is eye to eye with Corker, he now wants a two-thirds vote to disapprove of the treaty with Iran. You may need to read that again to process it. Read More

Six Baltimore Cops Charged in Freddie Gray Death In a truly unusual and unexpected turn of events, police officers have been charged in connection with injuries sustained to a suspect in their custody. Per the Baltimore Sun, the six officers in charge of Freddie Gray's detention have been charged with manslaughter/homicide in connection with his death. Already, I have seen a lot of conservatives on twitter decry this decision as politically motivated and premature – a move designed to satisfy the mob mentality in Baltimore. I don't really know whether that's true in this particular case or not. I do know that if you flip the script on that accusation, police make arrests all the time to quiet public outcries of various kinds so I'm not tremendously moved by the accusation just because the people charged in this case are police. More to the point, if these particular cops were charged too hastily or with insufficient evidence, they are virtually the only cops in America to have suffered this fate. In fact, by and large police are the beneficiaries of an extraordinary level of deference in terms of charging decisions, as compared to the general populace. This is the situation the Obama administration faces as it is on the verge of signing the bogus nuclear weapons agreement with Iran. What makes the situation so bad is not only does the White House know that Iranian if flagrantly violating every agreement they've made but the White House is actually lying to cover for Iranian duplicity.
