There is Nothing to Fear but Terrifying Amounts of Fear Itself (and Republicans)
Every day on cable news, on the internet, in newspapers, we hear about fear and how terrible it is. . . except for Democrat fears. Those are smart politics.

Five Lies Hillary Clinton Told in Saturday's Debate
Maybe you're like me and have grown used to Presidential debates giving no information at all. Turns out we're wrong though: Hillary Clinton told these five lies in Saturday's debate. By seeing what she's lying about, we can get an idea of what her agenda is, or what she thinks her weaknesses are.

What Would a Rubio Win Look Like
The GOP primary map presents different challenges for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 94% and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100%, as it presents Cruz with a strong opportunity for an early knockout blow, and Rubio with better odds of winning if the nomination devolves into a long march for delegates. The Cruz path to victory is fairly easy to describe, as it starts with winning Iowa and South Carolina – which effectively neuters Donald Trump – and then sweeping the Southern and other deep-red states on March 1. But let's take a more detailed look at what a Rubio scenario would look like.

We Won't Have Lindsey Graham to Kick Around Anymore
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) 36% has performed a great service for this country: he has decided to stop subjecting us to his Presidential campaign. CNN is now announcing that Graham is suspending his campaign, which means that this will be the last we hear of how Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) 36% will bring booze back to the White House if he is elected.

Obama Administration Abandons Afghan, Iraqi Interpreters but Welcomes Syrian Refugees
Whenever the US military deploys to a foreign, non-English-speaking nation one of the things that is needed is interpreters. For obvious reasons, you need to communicate with the local population and the better you communicate the easier your life will be. If you were stationed in the Republic of Korea, you know that KATUSAs (Korean Augmentees to the US Army) are a part of the Army structure and can, emphasize "can", be a great asset, In a combat zone, having someone you can trust who can interpret language and customs for you and who can look around and see when things are wrong (wait, wait, why aren't there any women and children on the street?) becomes a matter of life and death.

Maybe Muslims Should Do More to Stop Islamophobia
Nothing on Earth is more predictable or tiresome than the Democrat outrage over "Islamophobia" every time a Muslim terrorizes a bunch of people in the name of Islam. I don't want to have to be the one to break this to liberals, but they call it "terrorism" because the goal is to inspire terror, and the reason Muslims do it is because it works.

Tom Cotton Vs. Apple CEO Tim Cook on Encryption
It's an interesting debate, although 'debate' is often not a good word to use when one person has rely on a measurable fraction of the Internet being your cheering section, and the other person has a similar soft power involving the American government*. To very briefly sum up: Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn't want to give the American government back-door access to Apple products, because then he'd be maybe giving everybody else back-door access to Apple products, too**. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) 82%'s response is pretty much equally forthright: terrorists can read, so they know that Apple has government-proof encryption, so they're going to use those products to plan out more attacks.

Marco Rubio Exposes the Shallowness of Obama's Foreign Policy
Barack Obama just gave a wide ranging interview with that tamest of jounalistic outlets, National Public Radio. The choice of the outlet was pretty transparent. NPR is listened to by the few dozen or so people who don't regret their decision to vote for Obama. The slavishly sycophantic interviewer, in this case Steve Inskeep, could be relied upon to ask questions is such a fawning manner that Obama would be safe from embarrassment.

Iran Continues to Develop Nuclear Weapons, Ballistic Missiles as Obama Hides the Truth
Under the terms of the agreement between Obama and some Iranian leaders, neither the US Congress nor the Iranian Parliament signed on to the deal, Iran was supposed to give up its nuclear weapons research in return for Western assistance in developing civilian nuclear facilities in Iran. Iran was also supposed to be prohibited from acquiring or developing ballistic missile technology for at least eight years (it actually wasn't but if I start calling out Obama and Kerry on their chronic lying I won't get anything else done). I suppose someone, somewhere, believed this agreement to be binding upon Iran its just that those people aren't in the Iranian government.

Superbowl anti-gun ad, hope it backfires on them

PAT DOLLARD YOUNG AMERICANS 11 Hours Ago Bloomberg to Air Gun Control Ad During Superbowl Feb 2, 2013Toro520 Via The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Associated Press) – A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks. The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
