Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Winston-Salem Police Department

April 11, 2016 - On April 06, 2016, Darius Javonte Carter was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force and the Winston-Salem Police Department’s SWAT Team. On March 15, 2016, the Winston-Salem Police Department took out an arrest warrant charging Carter with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

U.S. Marshals Coordinate the Arrest of 203 Fugitives to Honor Victims of Crime

April 11, 2016 - From April 5th to April 8th, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted “Operation Justice 2016,” a metro wide fugitive round-up involving 29 law enforcement agencies from Maricopa and Pinal counties. The operation targeted over a thousand fugitives wanted for higher level felony crimes including Robbery, Rape, Dangerous Drugs, and Assault.

April 11, 2016 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Vermont Violent Offender Task Force arrested a fugitive wanted by the State of Vermont for Escape. Dennis Rose of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested on April 8, 2016 in Newport, VT when confronted by Deputy U.S. Marshals and members of the Vermont Violent Offender Task Force.

The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The ad calls on lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns. It is narrated by children, with “America the Beautiful” playing in the background. It includes decades-old footage of National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre saying the gun lobby group approves of the checks. LaPierre recently testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the NRA no longer supports background checks for all gun sales. A Bloomsberg spokesman would say only that the ad cost in the six-figure range....
