0-00

The President- My fellow Americans,

0-01

Each month families across the country work very,

0-05

very hard to balance their budgets and to make the

0-08

tough choices necessary to take care of their loved

0-11

ones and to give their children opportunities

0-14

they never had before.

0-16

This is who we are as Americans - we take pride

0-19

in leaving each new generation a better

0-21

country than the one we inherited.

0-24

Yet for decades, Washington has refused to

0-26

make the tough choices.

0-28

As a result, the American Dream has slipped from the

0-30

grasp of more and more of our people.

0-33

This has to change.

0-34

We need a government that spends on the right things

0-37

- the safety, security, and well-being of our

0-39

people - and stops the waste and abuse of

0-42

taxpayer funds, whether in America or in global

0-46

projects overseas - of which, perhaps, there

0-49

are too many.

0-50

My administration is laying a new foundation to

0-53

build a future of economic prosperity and

0-56

achieve American Greatness.

1-00

The budget we are proposing will reverse

1-02

economic stagnation and open the path to millions

1-05

of new jobs for American workers.

1-08

We will balance the budget without making cuts in

1-10

Social Security and Medicare.

1-13

We will achieve our goals by doing exactly what you

1-16

do in your home- setting priorities, cutting the

1-19

fat, and growing new opportunities.

1-22

And the big thing for me is economic growth, which

1-26

is not possible without safety and security.

1-30

We will grow our economy; it is growing already.

1-33

It will grow faster than you've seen it in decades.

1-36

That is why our budget reverses years of cuts to

1-40

our military that have made us less safe in a

1-43

more dangerous world.

1-44

We are going to make sure the men and women on the

1-47

front lines of freedom have the tools they need

1-50

to keep us safe and totally secure.

1-53

At home, we are going to give our ICE officers -

1-55

who have done an incredible job - and our

1-57

Border Patrol agents - who are amazing people -

2-01

everything they need to end the lawlessness

2-03

once and for all.

2-05

It is our moral duty to keep our citizens safe and

2-09

free, and to protect the right of every American to

2-12

pursue their dreams.

2-14

We don't want MS-13 roving our streets, we're getting

2-18

rid of them by the thousands, they're going

2-21

to be out of here.

2-22

But I'm proud to tell you that the first budget we

2-25

are releasing provides a firm new foundation for

2-29

the safety, and also for jobs and prosperity for

2-33

all Americans in the years to come.

2-36

Thank you very much.

2-37

You're going to love the end result.

"There are clearly more than 300 members of the House of Representatives, the overwhelming amount of Democrats and a significant number of Republicans, who would support the national security legislation, were it to receive an up-or-down vote on the floor of the House," Jeffries said on CNN yesterday.  Jeffries’s best bet is a long shot, a rarely successful legislative maneuver known as a "discharge petition," which would require at least four Republicans

"Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has made available to all members of Congress information concerning a serious national security threat," the two-sentence release began. "I am requesting that President Biden declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the Administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat." And with that, the race was on to find out what "serious national security threat" he was talking about. At the White House, national security adviser Jake Sullivan was tight-lipped while expressing consternat

"We wanted faster results. From that perspective, unfortunately, we did not achieve the desired results. And this is a fact," Zelensky said. "We are losing people, I'm not satisfied.
