Dem state senator: Second Amendment advocates have 'mental problems' external site
During the Senate Judiciary Committee's public hearing on a constitutional carry bill on Wednesday, a Democratic state senator accused Second Amendment advocates of wanting people with mental illnesses to be able to purchase and possess firearms, leading the senator to assert that these same advocates themselves have "some mental problems." State Sen. Gerald Allen's (R-Tuscaloosa) SB 4 would get rid of the requirement that a gun owner has to have a permit to carry a lawfully owned firearm. It would not affect any existing legal requirements for someone to lawfully obtain that firearm.

Pittsburgh Residents Seek Preliminary Injunction Against Ban on Standard Capacity Magazines
With support from the NRA, gun owners challenging Pittsburgh's ban on publicly carrying loaded magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds filed a motion today seeking a preliminary injunction. If the motion is granted, an injunction would prohibit Pittsburgh from enforcing its ban while the case is pending.

Oregon: Gun Control Package Sent To Another Committee
Thanks to NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted their state Senators in opposition, Senate Bill 978 has been sent to the Oregon Senate Committee on Rules instead of directly to the Senate floor for a vote.  While in the Committee on Rules, however, the bill is likely to be amended and could potentially include new provisions.
