The Senate Executive Committee is scheduled to convene at 2:30 today to listen to testimony and vote on legislation that would create a permitting process to buy a firearm, ban "assault weapons" and prohibit magazines capable of holding more than 15 rounds.   BREITBART.COM Shannon Watts Mocks NRA Opposition to Centerfire Rifle Ammo Ban On Tuesday Shannon Watts used Twitter to mock the NRA's opposition to a ban of centerfire rifle ammunition. Watts is the founder of Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action. Her criticism was ubiquitously rooted in the NRA's opposition to an "armor piercing" ammunition ban. What Watts missed is that the opposition rests, in part, on gun controllers' ambiguous use of the phrase "armor piercing," whereby they expanded the term beyond its actual meaning in order to broaden the scope of the ban being sought.
